Well, I would either live in France within 1750 mainly due to the intellectual ferment, China in the 11th century, and....the United States during the Roaring Twenties.

All the jazz and intellectual dissent...is tempting.:P

5-6 centuries ago in China/Japan, somewhere in a peaceful village surrounded by mountains and hills. The everyday would be work, family time, enjoying oriental food and tea, etc. Wonderful.

I would say in Guatemala during the 10 years of spring, just to get swept up in the excitement of new found freedom and hope, but that would land me just after the end of World War II.

I guess I'd have to go with the roaring 20s like everyone else, except I'd exile myself to France with all the intellectuals and writers.

Probably Australia in the late 1700s, as the prisoners that went there actually stayed with some British officials, and they formed the society of Australia with the Aborigines.

Of course, that is only if I could go there from now.

And why not go live somewhere where the OT stuff happened? If it actually happens, I go to heaven, if it doesn't, it's still a win-win for me.

This is not a clashing discussion, but more importantly, it could fit under Society, Personal or Miscellaneous. We don't need a History forum. History is always the history of something, and those somethings have categories already.

This is a post about the quality of the site as a whole and what features the site should have. Thus this post should be in the Debate.org forum category.

That would be in the time of prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). Just being there with him, talking with him and looking at him would have been beyond amazing. Either that or in Muslim Spain at the year 929–1031.
