Just thought this is pretty cool. This game comes from the creators of Hearts of Iron 3, a World War 2 strategy game. Now they have moved to the Cold War. You can change history in any way you want. You can even control whole governments and take part in important decisions made by a country. So you can pass what laws you want and get the presidents you want elected.

Good news. I play HoI3 once in a while and enjoy it very much. The problem is that the CPU must be very good to handle the game, otherwise there's a horrid performance.

Extending the gameplay beyond the 1940's is a big improvement -- I hope the AI gets a big boost too.

How good must the CPU be?

An intel i5 or i7 from the 3rd generation would provide a great performance. I have the i7-2820QM (2.3 ghz), which scores quite high on benchmarks: http://www.cpubenchmark.net... It lags very much during war though.

I think a 3.0+ ghz CPU should do well. I'll get a self-built desktop soon, it should be flawless.

I read that Hearts of Iron 3 had some flawed engine design that wrecked the performance. I don't know if this is true, but in case it gets fixed in the new game, then a budget CPU could handle the game moderately. Nonetheless -- high-range CPU's are best suited.

Out of luck, then.
