A forum for making your own alternate history country, it could be an alternate version of an existing country or a completely new one. All you need to do is give a name, a short description of what it's like and explain how that history is different from real history.

Now here is my example:

Name: The Dominion of Sweden

Description: One of the most technologically advanced nations in the world, The Dominion of Sweden's territory includes Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Finland, Estonia, Iceland, Greenland, Latvia, a bit of Germany (the rest of the Jutland peninsula and Hamburg), and northeastern European Russia (Riga to Novgorod to Arkhangelsk). The population is 34,838,609 (roughly) with the most heavily populated areas around the southern Scandinavian peninsula and the Jutland peninsula.

Break-off from real history: Peter the Great fails in his attempts to modernize Russia, instead, Charles XII of Sweden goes on the offensive until his death in 1718. His brother-in-law, Fredrick I, completes the conquest and seizes large portions of territory. Successors continued expanding the empire, into Denmark, into Norway, into the holy roman empire. While this is going on, Sweden takes up some colonization, Quebec, Maine, Vermont, New Hampshire, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island, Nova Scotia, Newfoundland and Ontario are Swdish colonies. In 1834, the absolutism of the monarchy is becoming very burdensome on the peoples of Sweden, some small revolts break out and more are threatened to happen in the future, so the kingdom reforms into a dominion.

Name: Caliphate of Arabia

Description: A vast empire stretching from East Budapest to Khyber Pass, and from Madrid to Khartoum, Arabia is a center of learning and culture that rivals America and China. Its main exports are gold, oil, and salt. It has many religions, although 65% are Muslim. It is ruled by a caliph and has a unicameral parliamentary system. Its constituents are among the wealthiest, healthiest, and happiest citizens in the world. It has good foreign relations with both China and the West, and it is the home to the UN International Criminal Court. It has 570 million citizens, and its capital of Baghdad has 30 million of those, a modern megacity.

Divergence: Baghdad never fell to Genghis Khan, so the empire maintained and even regained its strength. It further influenced European culture and pushed scientific achievement ahead 75 years from today.
I am groot.

Name: The Commune of the Soviet Hegemony

Description: The Soviet Hegemony is a hegemonial system stretching from Franz Josef Land to Sri Lanka and from Italy to Chukotka. The countries it includes are Soviet Russia, all of Asia, including all of Arabia, and Europe up to the border of France. The Soviet Hegemony is the most powerful political system in the world. Its citizen count is 1540 million as of December 2014. The technological advances are unknown to the world outside the hegemony, but there is suspicion of further advances in automation such as self-driving vehicles, along with weaponry using Mendelevium and Flerovium, as is seen by its mass exports of these two chemicals. Its magnitude causes it to be on very good terms with the rest of the world, as the military system is the strongest in the world. Its main exports are osmium, petroleum, coal and iron. There is no main religion, as its domain is so vast the cultures cannot combine one belief.

Divergence: After the Soviets defeated Nazi Germany, they proceeded to conquer Nazi Germany and then expanded ruthlessly further. They won the space race in 1963, due to a redirection into a full force mission to get to the moon with the entire expanded empire, causing the US to give up on the Cold War and allow the Soviets to continue expanding and continue communism.

Adding more.

At around the same time as the revolutions of 1834, the Swedish-American colonies begin to protest their colony status and began a revolt of their own. The new dominion republic government made the colony into full districts and the colonists became full citizens of Sweden. Under the new constitution, finalized in 1835, the royal family would still exert control over the capital city and the surrounding area while the other districts would have a legislative assembly governing local affairs. The people of each district would elect 2 representatives to the National Assembly of Governance, the district representatives from each province (a group of districts) elect among themselves (with the recommendation of their voters) a member to the High Council of Sweden. The high council typically proposes laws and the national assembly votes on it (although the national assembly and the people can propose laws under special circumstances). During the great war (1902-1928) Sweden remained neutral, but traded with both sides (though never any weapons). Then, during the war of Prussian aggression (1938-1940), Sweden unleashed the hydrogen bomb on Berlin - killing millions. No country has dared make war with Sweden since for fear of it's advanced military. There are also rumors of giant war robots being developed to crush the new French 'tanks' that were introduced in the great war and thus maintain Sweden's stranglehold of military superiority. For now, Sweden dominates international diplomacy and enforces world peace with the threat to destroy the first countries who dare start fighting.
