1. Saladin

2. Hannibal

3. Khaled Ibn Walid

How could you forget Zhang Xun. The Tang dynasty general that while being besieged his men began to run out of arrows. He had straw dummies made and lowered over the wall. The attackers thought they were a night raiding party and shot at them.

Zhang Xun replenished his arrow supply. Did it for another night, and on the third night really did send a night raiding party.

As a westerner I only know of one Chinese general (Sun Tzu) and he wasn't on your list.

Aww, but I haven't seriously read anything about An-Shi since I was 13 or something... In fact, I don't recall the arrow story, lol. I had to look it up on Wikipedia. (Someone gave the subheadings some interesting poetic names...)

In any case, Guo Ziyi really stands out among the An-Shi generals - he really overshadows others like Zhang or Geshu Han.

I thought your list was so extensive (most of them I do not know of) that I was poking fun that your list didn't include an honorable mention of Zhang Xun :P
