Too many wonderful historical figures to choose from, so I shall just make a list, and this isn't in order of how much I like them, just in order of which one comes to my mind first.

1. Friedrich Hayek
2. Ludwig von Mises
3. Milton Friedman
4. Ayn Rand
5. Aristotle
6. Adam Smith
7. Frederic Bastiat
8. John Locke
9. Augustus Caesar
10. Hadrian

Underlying most arguments against the free market is a lack of belief in freedom itself. -Friedman

One that really jumps to mind is Calvin Coolidge. Unfortunately, he's only dedicated one sentence in the typical History book. Completely fails to mention that he was one of the most popular presidents EVER, and that his supply-side policy made the period of success in the 20s the Roaring Twenties.

Stonewall or Lee. Hard to put one in front of the other.
