Depends on the perspective. I would argue that it's who laid eyes on the land first. Columbus discovered the Americas, and then he discovered the Natives after.

We saw these strange pale sickly looking men with funny clothing. We were like "damn these people need help" To this day since we discovered these white men we feel sorry and wonder how the hell they put up with taxes, the cold and the heat. We both made discoveries. We discovered that we shared a belief in God. We discovered they didn't know shot all about special medicines made from the local plants. And we discovered they were filthy disease ridden things that made many a warrior die.

Actually, Leif Erikson "discovered" the Americas before Columbus. Or, if you think about it, the natives did first.

There's probably no way of knowing, but it doesn't really matter. Christopher Columbus deserves credit for the successful Trans-Atlantic voyage, not the natives.
