I guess post world war 2 honest history.

I'd like to see some history lessons on an honest look into corruption and government politicians and how propaganda, mass manipulation, crony capitalism, proxy wars, and juicy scandalous secrets shaped humanity and our world today.

Behind every great victory is a great crime, I think the people deserve some honesty these days.

I suppose this is only in Ireland. We learn about WWI and II as well as Ireland in the 20th century etc. yet there is nothing on our history text books (or Junior Cycle) on Daniel O'Connell!! Also, we learn a lot about communism but nothing on communism in China, seriously?

I don't know if this "deserves" more attention...

But I always found the Republic of China (1911 to 1949) to be quite interesting.

Yeah, like honestly tell us what really went down during these major events, that would be a fun class.

The 20th century. It should be a sign of what we should never repeat, such as fascism, Communism, Socialism, removal of property rights, authoritarianism, etc.

The Roman Republic, in my province athe least most referencessential to antiquity are side lined by the Greeks, especially Athens, however the Roman Republic has far greater resemblancestors to modern government that classical Athens even at the height of it's democracy.

Also, more focus on the development of the major world religions and their impact (regional and international) on history would be both an in treating and vastly useful to the curriculum. Regardless what rabid secularist may think.

History doesn't mean only past.

You don't know what history means then.

History (noun): the study of past events, particularly in human affairs.

Most historians will agree that "history" dates back 2 to 3 decades before the present date and beyond.

Any Western society ought to have children read the Bible. You can't make sense out of so much of Western literature without it; it's the most important book in the history of our culture, and by FAR the most heavily alluded to. That's why we literally just call it 'the book'. The Geneva translation has the most literary influence in the Anglosphere, so they should just read that one.

Honestly, cutting all religion out of school has done more to cripple historical and literary awareness than just about anything. You can teach it without preaching it.

In my opinion the Holocaust deserves way more attention and investigation than it gets.. Its a pretty sensitive topic and I respect that. But it seems theres allot we just assume without having done the proper research for it.

I personally acknowledge the holocaust but when researching it its quite loopy, lots of holes and theories that don't add up.

Wisconsin and Michigan exploration and settlement by the French. It is fascinating how at the same time the English colonies were developing, there was an inter blending of Native, French, and some Black people going on in the Great Lake States. At some point I will present some of my findings.
