So I'[m doing an assignment on Roman society and culture, and in doing this assignment I found this roman painting:

Yes they did know how to have fun didn't they?
"In the name of welfare and equality, the twentieth-century liberal has come to favor a revival of the very policies of state intervention and paternalism against which classical liberalism fought. In the very act of turning back the clock to seventeenth-century mercantilism, he is fond of castigating true liberals as reactionary [opposing progress]!" - Capitalism and Freedom, by Milton Friedman, Introduction.

The Romans are famous for their pornographic house paintings and ceramic artworks. When Pompeii was first excavated from the volcanic ash the 'prudish' archeologists of the time painted over many of them. They would have been on display to every one visiting their houses in roman times.

Don't forget they staged real battles just for entertainment.
Let's hope "the truth is out there" cos there is bugger all round here.

Thanks for the info. I had some knowledge about it. But I have doubts about the very first picture in this topic becasue there is nothing explicit, at least not for me. Unlikewise, the pictures you provided are definitely explicit.

Nude pictures are very common in roman culture, but they are not necessarily porn.

Hmm, that add new weight to the phrase beginning "When in Rome..."
