I went to a pre-screening of a movie last night and we weren't allowed to take cell phones in. They used metal detectors and frisked us to make sure no one filmed it. We had to wait an incredibly long time for it to start once we got in and my friend made some comment about wanting to do something on his phone. I told him to just pretend it's the 90s where nobody had cell phones. Within seconds we both said "Well this sucks"

Yeah, I couldn't imagine living without the internet, cell phones, and everything else we enjoy in the 21st century.

I had a cell phone in '94, it was a big ugly gray thing, with a little plastic antenna. It got wet and stopped working. Internet started, but all you had was AOL, no google or anything much yet. There were AOL chat rooms, and all porn was for $. When the dot com revolution hit it got ridiculous, silly really. People were making anything into a dot com biz. Then they all went out of business and the recession of 2000 hit.

I remember having to listen to a bunch of noise in order to get online.

Why the 90s?

Because, most people on this website weren't even alive during the 70's or 80's, and the last decade just ended, so that leaves the 90's.
