If so, then do you like what you do or not ? Some people have jobs that make
them depressed or overwhelmed. Then there are jobs that we do that make us
proud to be part of society. What about you ? Hows work.

I have a low level job that I am moving into management soon. Pays enough for a 18 year old who lives with mother still. I like my job because it keeps me moving. I am unable to stand around forever and be friendly to costumers.

Uh-oh. I didn't know that. Although it's been a year since I last saw her.

I highly doubt that, my friend. Not the second part though, she does make some good "sammiches".

Chicken Porn Star is hardly a "model." It also isn't an "actor" in case you were wondering.

Credit department for a medium sized company. Don't like it so much, not the job, but the piss poor management of the company. It is designed around sales, they don't know how basic accounting works, so they think that some sales are making money, when those sales are losing money. But since enough sales make money, it balances out, and when it comes in under sales estimate, they blame others.

its shocking to me how idiot companies manage to stay afloat. the company i work for hasn't paid any vendors in what seems like over a year... as far as i know. most of the vendors our department deals with are agitating to be paid anyhow. and the way they run things is just shockingly wasteful. alas i am but a lowly clerk. as long as they keep paying me i suppose i shouldn't complain :D
evidently i only come to ddo to avoid doing homework...

Account Executive. Essentially i sell to large companies, and negotiate contracts. I have an amazing amount of freedom, work from home mostly, and the pay is very good when i am doing well with my quotas, expense account and a great boss, but i'm not saving humanity and it can get tedious when I'm dealing with stupid people. Any serious job will have the capacity to depress you or overwhelm you if you let it. The only area i get uncomfortable with is when my numbers aren't great, and that's just the nature of sales.

That's my occupation. I don't get paid for anything, if that's what you mean.

My step-dad does but he's either gone or sleeping, plus he's fukcing lazy. My mom and grandpa are disabled. And we have a boat-load of animals to take care of.

Just to give further explanation, GIS = Geographic Information Systems. I'm a 2-time award winning cartographer (map designer) and worked there for 5 years. I generally create geographic data, create processes that generate geographic data, I do a bit of programming of mapping applications, perform geographic analysis on government related data such as demographics, crime data, economic data, etc.

I enjoy my job because there is an element of creativity because I am combining analysis with art. I don't have to clock in. Were not really monitored at all (except computer usage). My tasks vary throughout the months. I never have to do dull, boring, repetitive tasks, but rather multiple projects that I can do at my own leisure. Though, there are several instances where I'm assigned tasks with deadlines.

That's about it.

I've been self employed for years doing music workshops and tuition. Now we've got a Tory goverment though, there is a lot less money for the work I do and I've had to take a 30 hour a week job for a substance misuse charity. I'm doing mostly admin which really isn't me but it's not so bad. I know I've been really lucky to earn money off my musial hobbies for so long and can't really complain at having to do some slightly more mundane work now.

I work 26 hours a week and make more money than I was getting working 40+ hours a week in the military. That gives me all the time in the world to go to school and get cock-diesel.

I work part-time in an entry level job for the biggest company in Canada. It's a sweet job, except for the fact that I hate it :p But I get paid sick days and paid vacation days, and some of the best benefits I think anyone could ask for.

I won't be applying to grad school right away, so moving up in the company is my back up plan...
