This is a thread for musicians who like good music: jazz, classical, funk, bossa nova, rock and pop (only good songs), blues, instrumental, and generally anything that sounds really f*ckin' good.

Please post a youtube video of the song/piece/performance so we can all discover some really sexy tunes.

I'll start with a sexy funk version of Toxic, yes the song originally performed by Britney Spears.

Herbie Hancock <3

This next piece is the an amazing jazz song called "The Red Cat" performed live by Troy Roberts' Nu-Jive with amazing sound engineering, musicianship, feeling, and groove.

I have yet to find another jazz song that rocks as hard as this.

Best parts, if you just want to skim: beginning-6:15 and 14:00-end.

The beat is really catchy (the first 10 seconds are the end of a movie).

Here's some interesting stuff if you've never heard it:

Of Montreal - Godly Intersex

Talk about a major work of production (in the box)
- Kevin Barnes is genius.

*It really does it no justice to use cheap built-in laptop speakers*
(good bass necessary)

Of Montreal is great! My favorite song is Gronlandic Edit. They are very musical and creative.

I am going to post the best organ solo in all of recorded history. The musician is Joey Defrancesco, a jazz organist and official badass who proceeds to f*ck his organ in the most melodic manner possible. Funk, blues, jazz, soul, and awesomeness exudes from every second of his playing. The creativity and passion are in another dimension. Also, if you're wondering who's playing bass, Defrancesco's feet are.

Go to 6:20 for the best organ solo ever.

Gronlandic Edit is amazing.

Play this piece, and then forget that you've done so and continue on scrutinizing the screen.

Crazy Person posted one of the most nuanced and beautiful classical pieces, so I will post the most badass classical piece ever composed and compound that by having the most badass pianist play it. This is essentially a cornucopia of badassery.

Enjoy!

This is a piece, Sonata in D minor, K. 517, written by Domenico Scarlatti and performed by Harpsichordist Elaine Comparone on her 2-manual harpsichord built in 1968 by William Dowd, is a beautiful, intense, and passionate Baroque masterpiece.

If mathematically square and narrowly tonal music makes you sick - this is the cure.

I love this thread so big. <3 You guys are throwin' some good shi'ite in here!

This is by far my favorite Big Band songs. It's called "Don't Git Sassy" by The Thad Jones/Mel Lewis Orchestra, and it is like having an audio blowjob. The head (main theme) is so awesome and bluesy with swing on 11.

It was recorded live at The Village Vanguard, a jazz club located at 178 7th Avenue South in Greenwich Village, New York City.

I couldn't find a YouTube video of this version, so here's the mp3:

Not many people have heard of these two, but they're really good. The first one is called Divenire, and the second is called Ancora.

The Concerto for 2 Violins, Strings and Continuo in D Minor, BWV 1043, also known as the Double Violin Concerto or "Bach Double", is perhaps one of the most famous works by J. S. Bach and considered among the best examples of the work of the late Baroque period. Bach wrote it between 1730 and 1731 when he was the cantor at Thomasschule, in Leipzig, Germany.

Those pieces were beautiful and relaxing, PeacefulChaos.
Van Morrison's Moondance is by far my favorite of his songs.
And Bach is just perfect <3

I'm spamming more sexy swinging Big Band music, because I feel like it.
