Apparently the bodies were buried for unknown reasons.

Strange. Deepens the mystery surrounding them.

Thoughts?

The wise have eyes in their heads, while the fool walks in the darkness; but I came to realizethat the same fate overtakes them both.
Then I said to myself,
"The fate of the fool will overtake me also.
What then do I gain by being wise?"
I said to myself, "This too is meaningless."
For the wise, like the fool, will not be long remembered;
the days have already come when both have been forgotten.
Like the fool, the wise too must die!

I thought so. So not only are they giant heads...but they were buried by an ancient civilization for reasons unknown.

What a strange society they were.

What a strange society they were.

Or a catastrophe buried them.

Or they sunk.

A bigger question for me is how the heck they managed to make them where they did.

I guess but I think the fact that all of the heads were left unburied suggests a burying and not natural events.

I notice that you enjoy quoting yourself, Conservative.
But if the chance remains
to see those better days,
I'd cut the cannons down.
