1. Pirate Speak- Truth is they talked just like everyone else.
2. Walking the Plank- No such thing has happened.
4. Eyepathches, etc.- Truth is they looked like anyone else.
5. Code of honor- There was no code. Pirates were exactly like the current somali pirates in Africa except with older weapons.
6. Open battle- Pirates did not try to openly fight with the navy because of the navy's training and ships. They just simply could not defeat them, so instead when a pirate sees a navy ship it tries to run away(They usually have smaller ships).
7. The most famous are the best pirates- That is false. The famous pirates were famous because they got caught or was arrested. The best pirates remain unknown.

They talked like sailors.

2. Walking the Plank- No such thing has happened.

I believe there is one recorded case of it happening, but thats it.

4. Eyepathches, etc.- Truth is they looked like anyone else.

There is a myth about eyepatches that they used them so that one eye was always prepared for dark areas.

Though, yes they did look like everyone else.

5. Code of honor- There was no code. Pirates were exactly like the current somali pirates in Africa except with older weapons.

There was a code, whether or not it was one of honor, and whether or not the majority of them followed it.....

6. Open battle- Pirates did not try to openly fight with the navy because of the navy's training and ships. They just simply could not defeat them, so instead when a pirate sees a navy ship it tries to run away(They usually have smaller ships).

True. They liked sloops, because they were fast, easy to beach, and good for taking defenseless merchant ships.

Though, there WERE pirates fleets, and they did combat large naval ships.

7. The most famous are the best pirates- That is false. The famous pirates were famous because they got caught or was arrested. The best pirates remain unknown.

Eh, not neccsarily true. The best are generally known for their prowess in battle, or their feats. Black Beard is famous because 1) His reputation, and his ferocity 2) How he sacked forts and such.
