I went into a pub at the weekend and ordered a large Pinot Grigio for myself, and an orange juice for my 5 year-old niece who was with me at the time. The barmaid came back with my glass of plonk and a hideously vulgar bottle of something called "Sunny D".

This vile, polluting liquid turned out only to contain only a small amount of juice, it was mostly just water, artificial sweeteners, preservatives, colourings together with an assortment of sinister sounding chemicals.

Obviously, I refused it and insisted on a bottle of pure orange juice instead. The barmaid was surprised and said most kids prefer Sunny D orange juice drink to the real thing. However, I bet this has more to do with how the manufacturers market the product to impressionable kids and their parents.

I must admit, when I looked at the ingredients on the bottle Sunny D "juice drink", I felt short-changed. They don't sell bottles of "wine drink" which only contain 10% wine, with the rest being just water and chemicals, so how come they are allowed to rip-off kids in that way?

Where would your epiphanies come without it?

I must shamefully admit I drank Sunny D when I was a kid. It was sweet, and it gave me a sugar high.

By the way: What are you doing bringing your niece into a bar?!

Who cares what sunny D is made of? Tastes good :D
It came to be at its height. It was commanded to command. It was a capital before its first stone was laid. It was a monument to the spirit of man.

No, you didn't. These /misc/ posts have been bumped from the last page so often, it's impossible to know which one came first unless you were a member back then.

Or you could carefully look at the dates of the first posts of every thread. Have fun with that
