Do you recommend the Mac OS, or...?

Microsoft computers are prone to becoming ridden with viruses, bugs, and torpor.

Only because hackers know that Microsoft controls the vast majority of the market . . .

Just get good software and you will be fine. I recommend MalwareBytes Anti-Malware. If you can get it from your school, get Symantec Endpoint Protection; otherwise, get Sophos.

I've wasted too much money on anti-virus bullsh!t, new computers, and alternatives when my computers didn't work. I have a MacBook Pro now. It's fast, virus-free, and intuitive. Never wasting money on a microsoft OS ever again.

Ya even worse case scenario you get a terrible virus and have to wipe your system, there is still no reason you'd be making a new laptop thread.
And to harp on what others have said, free avira antivirus and common sense will keep your computer virus free. Been running windows for years and never had a problem
