Christmas is just around the corner. So lets hear it, how far are you in buying presents? Got Ideas? Stumped? Finished buying?

Buying Christmas gifts stresses me out. Since I'm not religious, I hate the idea of having to buy someone a present on or around 12/25. So, I buy my loved ones presents whenever I damn well please (or when I can afford it and see something that I think they might like). As such, I already got my gf a laptop -- just gotta get her a few things for it. And since she doesn't celebrate Christmas anyway, she got me a present too just for the hell of it -- a PS3 :) I don't think too many other people expect gifts from me, but I'll get a little suttin suttin for some special someones.

I am religious but when I get my own place I'll be doing just what you said and separating the commercial Christmas from the religious Christmas. I'm going to make the commercial christmas occur on December 28. And I will deem that holiday with a new name..."FESTIVUS"

1) The fact that your name has "griswald" in it, and you're talking about Christmas, is outstanding. (National Lampoon's Christmas Vacations is one of my favorites.)

2) Buy everything online. Amazon.com and BestBuy.com, and possibly eBay. You'll fall back in love with Christmas. And you won't have to become a misanthrope.

A digital picture frame that has a flash memory card slot. Fill up the 8 gig card with your family photos, he can take it to work with him and it basically shows a slideshow of all the family photos. How can't he love that?

Considering I'm broke and unemployed nobody is getting anything from me. It's probably ok though since many people in my family don't really celebrate christmas anymore anyway. As I'm not christian I don't really have any interest in celebrating it myself. It's just a huge consumerism thing these days anyway, something I don't want to be a part of.

Oh, you addressed me when you said, "PoeJoe - Here's what to get your dad."

I was skimming the thread, so I didn't realize you meant to address Panda.

Hey now, I'm not just socialist simply because I'm jealous of people with money. :P

Blame the minimum wage

Without it, companies would pay like nothing! Already the minimum wage isn't high enough to properly sustain a family.

Are you saying you would rather be unemployed? than be paid 4 dollars an hour?

No, I'm saying that everybody should have decent living standards. Besides,The employees in a company work alot harder to deserve only $4 /hour. I live in the Canadian province with the lowest minimum wage right now and my mom has been homeless twice. She's a hard worker and didn't deserve any of that, especially since she has my younger half-brother with her. We should really stop derailing this thread though.

Yes. If you read my latest comment you would see that homelessness is a major problem, even within my own family.

No no no, my question was, where do you draw the line between proper and improper?
