I'm fairly certain that this has been done before, but I was having this discussion with my partner last night and I think I came up with my own perfect three wishes (that is, wishes that I think would make me perfectly happy).

The 3 rules follow Aladdin; no wishing someone back from the dead, no wishing for someone to fall in love with someone else and no wishing for more wishes (or any variation of it!)

Here are mine:
1) I wish I learnt at a superhuman speed. Like being able to learn surgical level medicine in a few weeks. Something like 125x as fast.
2) I wish I were in perfect health (with normal aging) until such time that I chose to die (rather than choosing to be immortal and watching your loved ones die).
3) I wish I could teleport anywhere in the world without negative consequence (like, if the place I chose to teleport to was being watched, was inside a solid object or was more than 50cm above a solid surface, it wouldn't work.)

My partner seemed shocked that I didn't wish for money. I thought about simply wishing for 10 billion dollars, but I thought that was an extremely lazy wish and could have seriously negative repercussions both on myself, my loved ones and the entire economy. So I wished for a wish that would allow me to learn the skills I'd need to make a fortune a more natural way.

You could always wish for the winning lottery numbers and wish that no one else had those numbers that drawing. But that is still lazy.

Mine have usually been the same, but instead of teleportation, it was conscious control of the flow of time, while allowing myself to be freed from the limitation of the flow of time (so everything could slow down, while I remain at normal speed). To where I could halt time if needed and travel to where I need to go.

If I had three wishes, I would (1) wish that I download information into my head and never forget it without loosing any rational or sensory or otherwise human capacity, (2) I would wish that I had one hundred million dollars a month, given to me without taxes and (3) I would wish that I would have now and retain for the remainder of my life, the body of Nacho Figueras. 1. The ability to control other people's perception of time.

2. The ability to control the direction and magnitude of any force.

3. To exist, immortally, as an incorporeal being capable of producing and controlling whatever body I desired, with the ability to put myself into a permanent state of suspension for a predetermined amount of time.

I could become a ghost and accomplish any aim which I desired. I would probably perpetually collapse governments in an attempt to limit the power of corrupt individuals and keep the act of governance on as local a level as possible. Assist rebellions, revolutions, and the like. I would also mercilessly punish people who harassed and belittled others for no good reason.
"The Collectivist experiment is thoroughly suited (in appearance at least) to the Capitalist society which it proposes to replace. It works with the existing machinery of Capitalism, talks and thinks in the existing terms of Capitalism, appeals to just those appetites which Capitalism has aroused, and ridicules as fantastic and unheard-of just those things in society the memory of which Capitalism has killed among men wherever the blight of it has spread."

1. The ability to grant and/or revoke immortality and a specifically detailed form of shapeshifting on whoever I wish, including myself (the specifics mostly to be things like controlling aging and pain and disease etc. via said shapeshifting). Avoids the "watching loved ones die" scenario.

Depending on what the shapeshifting limits were, I might not need any other wishes.

Immortality or invincibility? It would suck to be immortal and then have like, a horrific car accident and not be able to die.

1) Unlimited money that replenishes itself as I use it. Also, all the gold, silver, platinum, Carbon Fiber and everything that has any value that exists in the world.

2) Capability to have unlimited sex and a natural resistance to all STD's each time sex is attempted. This includes unlimited charm and perfect looks to persuade any woman to have sex with me that I want.

3) Immortality in perfect health and the ability to grant it to anyone else or take it away on a whim from anyone including myself.

The 3 rules apparently allow someone to become a genie. As it did in Aladdin.

So I would wish to have the powers of a genie without the whole being locked in a lamp thing.

BAM. You're a genie, locked up in a TV. When someone watches porn on the TV, you emerge and have to grant them three wishes. After you've granted the wishes, you're locked in the TV again, for all eternity.

You should have been more specific....

Since my statement was phrased "I would wish", it was a reference to what I would wish and not the actual wording.

1. I would wish for an item that could answer any question I ever asked it with 100% certainty of the response being correct. This ranges from small things like "What is this person thinking", or "What currently airing TV show would I like the most" to large things such as "Is there an afterlife", "Is there intelligent life beyond Earth", or "How would my life be different if I had (or hadn't) done X". The possibilities are literally endless.

2. The ability to stop aging (at will).

3. This is the hardest one. I'm wavering between the ability to relive memories, teleportation (from TV's post), or maybe I'll just be cheap and go with the Dream Machine from Nozick's thought experiment.

I don't think you would need STD resistance if you wished for perfect health.

This are all so deep and philosophical BlackVoid. Makes my wishes look very materialistic by comparison.

I would wish for an eidetic memory, complete immunity to all illness and aging, and the ability to shapeshift.

1. I'd wish that all suffering everywhere in the universe would permanently end immediately.

2. I'd wish for the ability to move things with my mind.

3. I'd wish for the winning lottery numbers the next time the PowerBall lottery goes above $200 million.

1. Total control over spacetime.

2. The power of persuasion (think mind control without the invasiveness).

3. The ability to heal and revive living things to any extent.

I'll keep wish 2 and 3 as spares. :P

Here's what I would wish for:

0. (I would not waste a wish on this, but this is something that I would want): I want to have a lawyer with me in order to create a binding legal contract because I don't want the granter of the wishes to screw me over. All those stories where the wish-granter tricks the wisher into bad situations makes me want to make sure that I can have recourse if I'm screwed over.

1. I wish to be more intelligent, more knowledgeable, and wiser than any person on earth when I wished this wish, and that those qualities could never be brought down on an absolute scale below the level I was when I granted the wish. They can be the same, just not below. However, I don't want omniscience, because I want there to be new things out there for me to find.

2. Going on the "genies can make people genies" logic, I wish to become more or less a god, without the hubris or desire to be worshiped. That way, I can be more or less immortal, can never age, can shape-shift, can be in a perpetually great physical shape, etc. without making multiple wishes. In all honesty, I'm probably going to have to talk with my lawyer the most about this.

3. IF there isn't any out there all ready, then I would like there to be a different intelligent species out there in the galaxy. If there is all ready an intelligent species out there, THEN I would like my habit of procrastination broken.

That's it. Nothing really monumentally different or world-bettering or philosophical. Just selfish.

I can see a problem with a lot of peoples wishes and I think, if you really thought about them, you'd realise that they're not the best thing you could wish for.

My wishes are based around removing limitations, while remaining very much human. The only one I'd change is my second wish, regarding perfect health. I need to think on that one more. The super-human learning and teleporting are definitely my choices.

Well, sort of (I did wish for perfect health to begin with, which would include that, lol).
The problem is that I want my loved ones to have perfect health too, but I don't want to affect aging. I still want everyone to age normally (this is an important part of being human).
