Which American state would you recommend to a foreign tourist as being the most all-American?

As a minimum requirement, it"s should have cowboys, guns, pick-up trucks, BBQ pits, hillbillies, baseball parks, a famous American football team, drive-thru restaurants a-plenty, plus, if at all possible, real live Red Indians living in wigwams.

If those are your requirements, I recommend Texas.

The most American state is a tie between New York and Massachusetts.

You should have asked "What is the most redneck state?" based on the conditions you established.

And based on what you said, Texas would be the most red neck state.

Houston and Dallas, however, are fantastically beautiful cities -especially Dallas-metro.

If we're looking for places friendly to foreigners its either California, New York, or Florida..... You know, states that actually have a sh*tload of many different kinds of foreigners.

Grand! How was the brisket? Was the exorcism alright? I sure hope they didn't drown you during the baptism. Did you bring back the American flag they wrapped you in as a ritual to fend off the evil socialist labor party spirits that dwell in your body?

I am so sick of the constant stereotyping of Texans on this thread. There is absolutely nothing more insensitive than assuming that all Texans eat brisket.

I had Kentucky and Texas in mind, but I've never been to Kentucky. Seriously though, I love Texas, even though I have to keep my politcial views to myself there!

Honestly it's probably like Ohio, nothing particularly spectacular about it but It's about as average America as it gets.

Most all-American state? I'd go with Pennsylvania. Philadelphia is essentially the broth place of the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution.

Pittsburgh is where you will find Jesus. Look at all the f*cking churches.

The rest of Pennsylvania is mostly country, with some of the Appalachians.

But Pennsylvanians don't say "you guys" OR "y'all." They say "youse guys".

That's not American in the least.

That was my profile picture last summer, but trust me. In Kansas we have: an active Klan fallowing, NRA off the wall (not to mention I'm a member), people don't give a fvck about tornados, and a midget hung themselves in the wizard of Oz. http://urbanlegends.about.com...
