This is not a fanfiction of any kind, despite what the title may look like. I selected this title because I felt that it was appropriate for the topic at hand.

When it comes to Christians and atheists, people on both sides (who aren't strict fundamentalists or antitheists) are willing to acknowledge that the other side has valid points, and that there is a possibility that the other side is right. Of course, strong faith in your beliefs is a good thing. But one shouldn't reach the point where you think your opponent is stupid because his stances do not align with your own. THAT is taking it too far.

But when it comes to Creationism and Evolution, the two sides seem to hate each other like Israelis and Palestinians. With evolutionists in particular, they (in general) absolutely refuse to acknowledge that the other side has any valid arguments.
To demonstrate my point, you have idiot atheists who make threads like this:

Of course, there are also idiot theists who act like atheists are plain stupid. I cannot think of any examples right now, but I'm sure there's plenty of it. I've probably done it many times before, but then again half of the stuff I do on this Site is troll.
As an example of how far the problem goes, take a look at post number 5 on this thread.

Okay, so since I'm probably the only semi-prominent user left who is a YEC (I have no idea whether GarretKadeDupre is a YEC or an evolutionist), I'm going to say this on behalf of DDO Creationists.
Macroevolution is not a stupid theory. It is a well-developed theory and it has many valid arguments. Macroevolutionists in general are not stupid or ignorant.
In fact, there is a real possibility that macroevolution is true.
That being said, I still believe strongly in Young Earth Creationism and that macroevolution is false.

Anyhow, I said it. Are there any evolutionists who likewise are man (or woman) enough to admit that there is a real possibility YEC may be true?

Because this is an enemy of everything DDO stands for: refusing to acknowledge the possibility that you might possibly be wrong, instead believing your opponent to be idiotic because he or she is a Creationist or evolutionist.

I am a theist and religious. I am also an evolutionist. The problem I have with YEC is simply the lack of scientific evidence, and the overwhelming amount of evidence against it. I have yet to find an argument in favor of it that stands up to scrutiny. The whole premise of YEC pseudoscience is trying and failing to disprove evolution.

Buy a book called "Darwin's Doubt," by Stephen C. Myers, I think.
