It's gotta be over a thousand.

that's crazy.

Before I spent all my time on computers, I spent all my time with my nose in a book.

errrr i'm a MASSIVE (seriously MASSIVE) geek and when i was younger (before 14) prob read over 400 books, but most of these were like really short 100 page long thingies for teenagers - not exactly exacting reads. I normally read 2 or 3 in an afternoon if they were good (unless it was like something from the Eragon series which would take days - 900 pages for a book about a f*cking dragon, WTF?). Last year i began moving on to things like Brothers Karamazov and 1984 and i think i've read, at most, 17 or 18 of those because they're quite long and you want to read some of them more than once.

told you i was a geek.....

I'm still young...

I reread books, ALOT. I still have my dad's Study room books full of African history and BioChemical texts. My Uncle also had more books, a books on Chinese history, Sociology of "black" more modern African history and some books on Ethics, Philosophy and Anthropology. I learnt alot from them.

I learnt advanced english by reading those books. I still get a book out of there every now and then. I also read and buy Books for fun.

I put it at 400 to 800.

I couldn't give you a very good estimate, but I own a few hundred books and I read more from the library than I buy. I'd say between 800 and 1,000.

Well you are British. So it is not as soothing when a British person reads it.

Same. Way over a thousand. When I was younger it was fantasy/sci-fi books all the time (Animorphs, son!) and nowadays it's philosophy.

Gotta be way over a thousand, but i'm old. I used to crank out sci fi books by the dozens. Now i read a little bit more slowly and choose books that i can fall into.
