So I was skimming though the updated 'New Members Read Me' sticky http://www.debate.org... and while looking at the past DDO Presidents it struck me - every DDO President has been an American.

Ragnar_Rahl - South Carolina, US. http://www.debate.org...
Lexicaholic - Pennsylvania, US. http://www.debate.org...
Cody_Franklin - Oklahoma, US. http://www.debate.org...
innomen - Massachusetts, US. http://www.debate.org...
airmax1227 - Wisconsin, US. http://www.debate.org...
TUF - Utah, US. http://www.debate.org...
bladerunner060 - ?, US. http://www.debate.org...
Mikal - Florida, US. http://www.debate.org...

Hmmm...

http://i3.kym-cdn.com...

http://www.quickmeme.com...

(Please tell me you read the second picture in his voice, lol, I did)

I wonder who the first Non-American President of DDO will be... who will rise to obtain such honor when the time comes?

And literally not a single one of them has been a white, straight, protestant male like every American president except Obama and JFK has been (and even they had three of the four)

It's not very surprising, considering that most of the prominent DDO users are from the US.

He is. A straight, protestant, male. He's even half white so really it's 3.5 out of 4, lol

Trueee. There are a few from other countries though with presidential potential at some point.

I don't consider him black at all. He was raised with whitey and went to schools predominantly white. Other than having an absentee father who just happened to be black there is nothing that makes him black.

I suspect he only married a black woman and chose a black church was for political gain. He is fraud meant to fool black people into thinking they finally have some political influence .

Yeah, he doesn't seem to have had much contact with black culture

I suspect he only married a black woman and chose a black church was for political gain. He is fraud meant to fool black people into thinking they finally have some political influence .

I don't know about that. I think marrying a black woman would if anything hurt him politically as it makes him seem "more black" in the eyes of racist white people. Racist black people would vote for a half black man even if he was married to a white woman. I don't care for Obama much but I think it's unfair to characterize his most personal decision as done for political gain like a decade before he ever ran for office...

Yeah, you're right. The black church thing is still suspicious but it's plausible his wife drug him into that.

John Adams was Unitarian. I do not think that is protestant.

We are a US dominated site, with many of the most active members being from the US, so it makes sense.

I do believe that Cermank was the first non-US citizen to even be on a Prez ticket though, so perhaps we are moving towards something not so dominated by the US.

As for the side topic, it's interesting to compare this with US politics, although the only similarity really is that it's male dominated. We've had two Jewish presidents, a homosexual president, at least one atheist, and a (former) Mormon. I don't think we'll see that kind of diversity in US politics in any of our lifetimes.

We are a US dominated site, with many of the most active members being from the US, so it makes sense.

Yeah I agree, it does make sense. I found it interesting though since this is an international site. Now I'm just more curious to see who the first Non-American DDO President will be! Larz is the only non-american I know of who actually had a shot during the last election cycle but then he left.

I do believe that Cermank was the first non-US citizen to even be on a Prez ticket though, so perhaps we are moving towards something not so dominated by the US.

Nope :) Larz!! Although I'd say that Cermank was much closer to being in office than he was. If she ever ran for president and won she'd be breaking a few records: first female president, first non-american president, I think that's it actually, but two very respectable records worth attempting!

Lol, agreed! Barack is really the only president who was 'outside of the norm' in terms of America's general ethnic favorism of white, straight, theistic males. Actually, has there ever been a non-christian American president? Because if not, then it'd be white, straight, christian males instead of theistic.

And literally not a single one of them has been a white, straight, protestant male like every American president except Obama and JFK has been (and even they had three of the four)

John Adams was Unitarian. I do not think that is protestant.

A fair point, my good man.

And arguably James Buchanan.

You're right, I don't know how I forgot about Larz. He's run a couple times I believe, and even got the second most votes one election.

I do believe that every president has been Christian.

What does a person's nationality or skin color have to do with anything. That only matters to race baiting malcontents who need to hide their own shortcomings and failures.
It's not your views that divide us, it's what you think my views should be that divides us.

If you think I will give up my rights and forsake social etiquette to make you "FEEL" better you are sadly mistaken

If liberal democrats would just stop shooting people gun violence would drop by 90%
