After months of hearing people say how great it was, I finally cracked and binged watched all of Sword Art Online last night and today. Pretty darn good.

The first season of SAO is good. The first half of the second season is kind of worth watching (GGO), but unless you have nothing better to do, you might as well watch some better anime such as Clannad, Angel Beats, Future Diary, or Guilty Crown.

I don't think Netflix has the second season, so I don't have to worry about that. It was nicely tied up and worth letting leave as that.

Good. Now if you're a man and can hold your tears, go watch Clannad or Angel Beats. If you can handle gore well, go watch Future Diary. If you can't really do either well, go watch Guilty Crown.

The fire has to be realistic. I hate the ones where the people seem to have 30 gallons of blood in their bodies that is under so much pressure they practically explode when sliced up.

That should be "gore" not "fire", not sure what happened.

Not really, lol. But there is a lot of blood when Yuno slices someone's throat.

By the way, if you are going to watch Future Diary, just know that the girl's totally sadistic and the guy's a total pvssy until the second half of the series.

Angel Beats is okay, lol. What you should watch Clannad After Story, but for full effect, you should watch the first one (although as Geo said, the first one doesn't have a specific plotline, which drove me mad).

As far as romcoms go the only one I like is Toradora!

I'm watching the first season of Code Geass right now. I find that I either like, hate, or pity Lelouch depending on the episode.

How do you feel about the 2nd half of the 1st season?

Not too bad. The love triangle stuff was weird, but they tried to do too much of that in the first half (they were just setting it up for harem hentai spin offs). At least they made the love triangle interesting, though I don't feel it was really resolved (but happy they didn't resolve it by lamely killing off one character). They had a perfect out for it with whoever that dorky character was (I am not good with names), in fact, it was screaming for that to be the resolution. I don't like how they Asuna was changed into a helpless princess that needed to be saved. They gave her a slight hint of strength when she first escaped, but that died all too quickly and she became helpless again.

There were a lot of characters that they inserted that never got developed and some guilds in the first half that just disappeared (laughing coffin or whoever). One thing that I didn't like in the first half was how quickly they faded away from the build of gamers as characters. I mean, it was awesome when they were reverted from their avatars into their normal states, and they showed how some girls were actually boys pretending to be girls (that doesn't happen on the internet, does it?) or they were fat and dopey, more inline with what the real gaming community would look like. But they quickly changed into the stereotypical people for the roles, rather than the gamer community. Remember that the game was limited to only 10,000 copies, so it should mostly be the more hard core gamers that are willing to get one of those copies. There were way too many old, grown men, they should be few and far between. But whenever they needed the clueless soldier that just follows orders, it was some meat head adult.

I also didn't care for the build up of illusion magic just for them to use it once (in the episode that they built it up in) and never bring it up again.
