I am conducting a brief not really scientific survey after reading the following statements please list the first industry that came to mind

1)They target adolescents and children in order to get them hooked early
2)It is one of the most addicting things on earth
3)It makes billions in profits each year
4)It was once said of it that it is "hidden public health hazard exploding, in part because very few are recognizing it as such or taking it
seriously."
5)Prolonged use has been proven to effect the physiology of the brain

Fast food, or maybe carbonated drinks.
I am voting for Innomen because of his intelligence, common sense, humility and the fact that Juggle appears to listen to him. Any other Presidential style would have a large sub-section of the site up in arms. If I was President I would destroy the site though elitism, others would let it run riot. Innomen represents a middle way that works, neither draconian nor anarchic and that is the only way things can work. Plus he does it all without ego trips.

I think strike wants to hear cannabis.
However, I don't think this at all. Cannabis is beneficial, but I think he was specifically looking for someone to say cannabis.
My answer is meth, crack, or heroin.

Cigarettes fit, but most people are aware of the damaging repercussions so I doubt that's the answer. Religion fits too, but based on the OP, I doubt that's the answer as well. Maybe some kinda fast food or medicine? Like Ritalin or something?
