And that's only the stuff they do that's completely legal.

"Alarmed when he opened the front door of his house one afternoon to discover three cops searching the place, Raymond Tapp decided that he'd better eat the dope he was possessing. But the cops noticed and decided to beat the piss out of him. Tapp was a tough old bastard, though, and wouldn't spit it out. The three cops pummeled him in the face and head and threw him out the front door, down the front steps, and into the front yard, where two more cops jumped in the action. For twenty minutes the five cops whaled away on Tapp. Finally, though, the cops got him on the ground, choked him while plugging his nose, and forced the dope out at last. The judge found this a perfectly reasonable method of extracting contraband and slapped Tapp with ten years."

"On a bright September afternoon in the early nineties, twelve-year-old Maria Gonzales was taking a taxi to New Bedford, Massachusetts, with her guardian. Acting on a bogus tip that the two might be smuggling drugs, local police followed the taxi in an unmarked car. When little Maria started looking back at the car tailing her 'suspiciously,' they pulled the cab over. The frisks revealed no dope, so the cops decided to strip-search the twelve-year-old girl, right there by the side of the road. A New Bedford cop couldn't understand what the big deal was when little Maria sued, testifying that the city police had conducted more than one hundred roadside strip searches during the previous three years."

Nope. The issue has turned to Jorge and his corruption.

Who said that?

No, it's the nature of the job that is the issue. Police are given too much authority, respect, credibility, and power. In a way, all police are initiating us by force because if we refuse to let them have access to our personal information we can get arrested. And since none of us want others to have our personal information (which is a vulnerable position), yet we can't act to the contrary without being coerced by police, the police are using coercive force on EVERYONE.
