It's not fake, it's just that you can't tell someone to "clear their mind"... it's just not that simple. Everytime I tried to "clear my mind" I just couldn't do it, and for the longest time believed that meditation was bs myself. Then it hit me, if I can't clear my head I'll try something else - I'll focus solely on the things that won't leave my mind when I try to "clear it". I discovered very quickly that there was a reason why certain things wouldn't leave my mind - they were long-term, huge issues. It was hard to face them... I had to face my mom's attempted suicide, my dad marrying someone without even telling me or my sister, etc., but after a while I was able to get to the root of those issues, and over time eventually worked through them while relying solely on my self. Nowadays, I can truly clear my mind, but it wasn't until about a years worth of focusing on the things that wouldn't leave my mind.

Also, there's many different types of meditation depending on your intended goal. Sometimes I meditate to clear my mind and talk with my inner self, other times I try and achieve total tranquility, and lately I've been meditating in order to master astral projection.

Anybody who does not believe that Meditation cannot help you center your thoughts and expand your mine has never devoted enough time to practicing it. It DOES work and can be very beneficial in abating many emotional and psychological imbalances and disruptions. God Bless.

When I had anger problems as a kid, it helped me to stop getting angry and violent so fast. I went from getting into fist fights all the time to just letting stuff roll off my shoulder. It does help me collect my thoughts sometimes as well.

You too, huh? LOL. Yes! Major anger problems up till my mid-30s when I began meditating. I was a thrower and a breaker. LOL. Taking anger out on inanimate and animate objects. I through a guy through a plate glass window of a downtown storefront and went to jail for 5 days. Began meditating and taking anger mgmt. classes--my ex made me! Then about two years later I was Saved by God, which totally put the finishing touches on eradicating all my anger. I still meditate every evening for about 30 mins and then finish it up with about ten minutes of prayer. Nothing phases me these days. Whatever aggression I feel bubble up I take out with boxing and workig out at my X-fit Box.
Thanks...and God Bless.

Yeah, the meditation saved me from my anger problems, probably at about 16. I think I don't get angry now, more because of depression, but I do fake it on rare occasion to accomplish something or because my inferiority complex gets the best of me

It is not fake but it is a form of escapism. Those who do not like the world and its constant churning turn to drugs or medita tion. Some attempt isolation such as a silent monastic life. The best cure for life is to live it warts and all , learn to listen and when to speak avoid boasting and show compassion for all living things. Accept your limitations and welcome death when it comes.
