As I was going to St Ives

I met a man with seven wives

Every wife had seven sacks

Every sack had seven cats

Every cat had seven kittens

Kittens, cats, sacks, wives

How many were going to St Ives?

Given the riddle, we can only prove that one person was going to St Ives. The rest simply could have been bystanders in surrounding areas that were not going to St Ives.

A towel.
It is odd when one's capacity for compassion is measured not in what he is willing to do by his own time, effort, and property, but what he will force others to do with their own property instead.

^^ Riddle

It better not be time. The answer to every riddle in existence is f*cking time. Either that, or it's boring semantics and the answer is 'Yes, I can'.

that's the answer. you could also use pressure or something to answer it, though.

but really though, does anyone have any riddles that are actually interesting and don't revolve around that kind of stupid stuff? google searches are really difficult to find good ones on. xkcd is decent for them but sometimes they're too mathematical for my interest.

pretty good that one was easy though
lets try think of a harder one.
if you are at the north pole you cannot move north
if you are at the south pole you cannot move south
but where in earth can't you move east or west?

Both poles. All directions are either north or south.

A pentagon would do it.

He is. This one is the easiest I ever heard (got it first time but no one else in the class did and I felt even dumber for being outsmarted by them on many other riddles before because of it)

Theres a boat in the ocean it has 10 rungs (1 foot apart) at 7 am 3 are under water, until 11 am the tide raises 1 food every half hour. At 11 am how many rungs are under water?
