Okay so every year for mother's day, Christmas, my mother's birthday, you name it, I get her something from the Body Shop that she probably doesn't need. So this year I decided to try something different and sing my mom a song.

However, since we'll probably have guests over when we exchange gifts and I know my mom is tone-deaf, I wanted to get the opinion of people who won't be too nice to hurt my feelings before I embarrass myself in front of my entire family :p

Clearly, I need a lot of practice (I barely know the lyrics lol) but tell me what you think.

That was pretty good actually.

And I also recommend Koopin perform the Lamb Song to his mother for Christmas as well. :P

Actually, it really isn't too bad at all, considering that you don't do this often (at least, that's what I infer from your original post).

Good job! :D

Advice: BELT IT GIRL! Not just to get some good volume, but it will also help on the higher parts. Yes, in person you will probably be embarassed. But on video - be confident and project an aura that says "I AM THE SH!T".

Overall, it's a good idea and a perfect song for your voice. *high five*

You are AMAZINGLY talented. I wow'd, a LOT. I would recommend a little shimmy at the end, where you just swipe all of the keys at once- that's a sign that you're a total badasss

lol Wow, I didn't expect this reception. Thanks so much, guys. It definitely makes me more confident about it. And thanks for the advice, Ann. The original song is deeper than I sing naturally. I was actually going to sing "Daughters" by John Mayer on a higher octave but I couldn't find the piano tutorial online.

This is just good advice in general.

Anyways, my take on the video is that it could have been louder (that's probably just the video) and I guess just practice more (you probably realize this). It wasn't bad, but it didn't blow me away. However, I don't know how it's supposed to sound.

Haha whenever I go home to Vancouver B.C., I always go to the local clubs and concerts. Canadian music is awesome - except for Justin Bieber. Fvck that thing.

Since you gave us Justin Bieber, we should pay you back and give you Miley Cirus! That way it's fair. :P
