Do you believe that your best dreams symbolize you accurately upon your needs, wants, views of the world, and/or personality? Based on what I've seen, most people fit the pattern:
-Most people don't really care about lucid dreaming or worry too much about real life to have a "best dream"
-Religious people have deeply salvation-type dreams where god comes down himself and offers amazing wonders (especially the "merkaba" wonder)
-Other people I see online are mostly shallow and selfish (hey hey hey, I am too), which is logical, so that their best dream is actually having sex, which makes sense, since it is the only purpose that seems clear ahead of us within our natural instinct of evolution and reproduction
-Those who care about lucid dreaming want to know more. Thus, the ones that have repeating dreams that go deeper and deeper every single time.
-Similarly, my own favorite dreams. I always try to gain a lesson or moral from the dreams, thus the idealized version. I always try to win. I always try to learn more information and like to bask in glory. That is who I truly am.

There are only a few good refutations against my theory/argument:
-My friend Garreth has close friends who note him as "being very nice". Yet he claims his best dream is killing people all over the place, so much so that he could not describe it fully in detail to me. There are then, multiple possibilities stemming from that:
1. My theory is completely incorrect and it is only a coincidence.
2. My theory is only mostly correct and some people can be changed in their thoughts at night, or what their subconscious shows, based on very bad days in their otherwise good life, or the reverse of both. Another explanation is that the subconscious may "lie", even in the best dreams that resonate the most with other people. For example, my nice friend Thi in my dreams had made plans of harming others. Not only do I have personal examples, crazy random illogical things happen in dreams all the time. Are we to take those as true, even symbolically, even if people think that is the best dream of all time? Only time can tell.
3. My theory is correct, and Garreth at his heart really does want to release his anger at all his troubles and people he doesn't like in real life so he does it in his dreams.

There are also a few other things that debunk my theory:
-Your mind cannot change anything in reality. It cannot manipulate probability or matter since your brain waves cannot escape your body, thus unable to transfer energy to move objects, explaining the impossibility of telepathy, telekinesis, etc, etc. Therefore, most "precognition" is either coincidence, or logical deduction from real life clues.
-If I beat my favorite dream, then my theory is instantly debunked. If we cannot trust the symbolic representation of the subconscious itself, who can we trust? Indeed, my subconscious directly stated: "'tis is impossible", referring to the feat of beating my favorite dream. If I prove him wrong, I prove my theory wrong, and I can move on with my life.
-Others' subconscious's ideas contradict with mine. There is also the clash of religion and science. Many suspect that God controls the mind. Indeed, as I noted above, many religious people have God himself confirm his existence. Yet, who's not to say that God IS your subconscious? Everyone has their own slimmer of God. Who can refute that? Only if you call upon the subconscious, then call upon God. See what happens. This will partially confirm, at least in my head, if God or Subconscious controls (or both of them).

When you say 'read' Freud, do you mean believe him as well?

I am a pianist and strangely, my best recitals/performances that I've given are the ones where I've had a dream about them beforehand playing TERRIBLY. Quite ironic actually.
