"Americans love guns"

This is simple, if you are an American and you do not "LOVE" guns, then just reply to this post saying "no". Nothing else is required. Thanks.

It was for a gun debate. My opponent stated that Americans loved guns and I wanted to prove that some Americans did not. However, the plan was a complete fail and by the time I had finished my arguments and had to post, only one person replied to this thread. My comment to your post is condescending I guess but only because I was being sarcastic since I no longer see this thread as anything of any importance. Besides, your comment itself is sarcastic- too enthusiastic and gave off a very girly vibe to me.

What??

Yeah.

A gun is a tool and nothing more; very few people would have an emotional attachment to a firearm.

When you say it like that, you make it sound ridiculous that humans form emotional attachments to anything at all. When I was little there was this fluffy toy I adored and would butcher to keep. Other people love status, wealth, material possessions, prized possession, technology, sentimental and completely non functional possessions, etc.

I read your critique as more of an attack on human nature than anything.

We do place importance and sentiment in objects. Those objects remind of and conjour up feelings associated with it. Nothing wrong with that generally speaking. A fire arm could do the same. The liberals naturally have used these attack terms to portray people in a negative light. Terms like "gun lovers" "gun nuts" aren't accurate at all except for an extremely small number of people. So for anyone taking on these arguments in the future, analyze the why rather than the object. Guns can represent a way to protect the ever eroding freedoms, which is what people actually love, not so much the tool.

There is an obesity problem with the poor in America. Some may say we are stupid for giving out so many billions in foreign aid to other countries. Others would say we are stupid for helping other countries that suffer natural disasters when other countries don't. All about perspective I guess. You could find people who think getting involved in WW II was stupid.

Your ignorance is truly astounding. There is no one left alive from the time of slavery, although slavery still exists in other countries. Slavery began long before the settlement in 1492. I empathize with horrible things people have gone through, but I feel no shame, I had nothing to do with or control over it. Big difference between empathy and shame, I'm not sure if you know what they mean. Insane people kill children, every country has them. Yes lots of people think we should pull our various aid from the rest of the world and let them sink or swim, would you like that? The atomic bombs were a last resort, no one thought it was right, but was necessary. Hind sight sure is 20/20!
I'm sure your heritage could be traced back to a group that committed some atrocity, do you feel shame for that? Do the people of England feel shame for what they did to the settlers and native Americans? Don't you think native Americans where killed while the settlers were still under England's control and rule?
So no we should not feel shame, there's no reason to, it says you live or are from North Korea, your burden of shame must truly be staggering.

If you're an American, it's likely that your stupid.
If you're an American it's likely that you're fat.

If you agree with my, type "yes".

And others would say you were stupid for forcing people out of their lands, yet others would think you were stupid for enslaving and technically creating the biggest deportation of human beings in all of history, and yet others would think you were stupid for forcing children to be separated from their parents, yet others would think you were stupid for killing children in schools, yet others would think you were stupid for trying to destroy a whole culture, yet others would think you were stupid for jumping so suddenly into a war and killing more than what was necessary, yet others would think you were stupid for having an fear of Muslims even though they have lived in your country for so long, yet others would think you were stupid for wasting a lot of your money on military when your health care system is terrible, yet others would think you were stupid for actually believing that dropping two atomic bombs were right, and yet others would think you were stupid for supporting a lunatic and a criminal.

If you're an American, do you feel ashamed at what you're country did? if so type "yes"

Your country enslaved people, discriminated upon them, killed them, massacred them, took their children from them, tried to make their culture extinct, killed people for the sake of showing off, put people in camps almost like the ones Germans put Jews in, and all you can say is sorry.

Do you know what sorry means? It means that you won't do it again. And yet you've already done it again, you're on the verge of doing it again. You discriminated against blacks, then Asians, and now you're doing it again with Muslims. You said sorry to the Japanese people that you shoved into camps in WW2 while still taking children from the First Nations. You vote for a person who wants to deport all Muslims.

You might know what empathy means but I doubt you know what it means to care. You emphasize with those in third world countries but do you actually care about them? No.

So I ask again, if you are an American, do you feel ashamed at what your country did? Do you feel ashamed that your country so blatantly lied? If so type "yes".

This is simple, if you are an American and you do not "LOVE" guns, then just reply to this post saying "no". Nothing else is required. Thanks.

Why would I be sorry for things I didn't do? I try very hard not to discriminate. All the accusations you have made I have not done, nor do I know anyone who has. And still other accusations are just plain wrong and incorrect. I understand you're trying to be provocative and incite an argument in the guise of a debate but I can only humor you for so long before it get repetitive and boring. One last time, no shame.

I guess I'm not this gun fanatic, but the guns I own were either handed down through the family, given by friends or bought pridefully, not on a whim like I've seen some folks do it. I've made memories with them, and they each remind me of different people, and they are all quite fun to shoot. Some are going on a hundred years old now, and they are all still in fantastic condition as I take pride in my ownership.

My girlfriend on the other hand. She likes bows. She claims guns are boring, but I she's just not a good shot and doesn't want to admit it. She says NO.

I like bows too. I live in a city now, so I think I'm gonna take up throwing knives or maybe tomahawks in the back yard. Should be safer for the neighbors.

First of all, my family immigrated here after all of that took place.

Secondly, if they didn't that's not who we are today.

Thirdly, Are you from Europe or something? I don't think you realize how big this country is. There is a ton of variation in culture, and when you hear "American" problems it doesn't necessarily mean a problem that is all across America, but often is a problem that all Americans should be aware of.

I mean we are United, in that we will pull together, love, and complain about our country, but the people across the states are really quite different. Your criticism runs off my shoulders like rain.
