Alcohol consumption in Ireland is going way down year after year, and Guinness is losing domestic share as well. Pubs are closing all over the country. What's going on there anyway?

Yes, but of course I don't give any specific date of my... arrival. So I would still recommend that they do use it!

Better modify your plans, i don't think there is any subway in Ireland. Lots of those double-decker buses though - still not quite the same effect.

the smoking ban and the recession hit the pubs hard.. they were obviously gonna..

that article says it.. people are just drinking at home now.. guinness is one of those best from draft drinks.. making it a pub drink.. my grandfather drinks guinness when he's in the pub.. he'd probably drink 10 pints there anytime he'd go..but when he's at home he drinks nothing but whiskey.. and he's at home more now..

there's been talk of putting a limit on how low shops can sell alcohol in order to allow the pubs a better chance to compete.. dunno will it happen.. and i dunno if i want it to...

it's probably nothing to do with guinness not being nice from draft really.. it's not the worst like.. about as bad relative to its draft as heineken is to its own i suppose.. it's not my drink..

maybe it's just that it's one of the social drinks..and we're now less sociable..

yeah, that's probably it..

I remember back in my drinking days having a Guinness on draft at a pub in some one of the towns i was visiting in Ireland. What an ordeal. I went to take the drink a bit too fast, and you'd think i committed a mortal sin. Apparently there is some ritual that goes into the pouring and some period of waiting that i was unaware.

You need to go to a pub to have a proper Guinness. Guinness from a can is sh1t.

I'd drink it but I wouldn't pay for it, whereas I'll often drink draft Guinness if I'm out.

most of the people who'd drink guinness would be old enough fellas.. and probably all drink whiskey outside the pub...

Seeing as I won't get served in a pub I keep my drinking at (someone elses) home. Don't be surprised at a surge in pub sales once I'm 18.

Yeah, to be fair I never drink it to excess, I'll often start off with a single guinness, before moving on to lager or something stronger.

Maybe I should look in the bowl more when I'm done, but don't think I get them.
