Okay... so apparently, something leaked where the US ambassador to Spain made a threat to blacklist Spain for not implementing a SOPA-like law. Just wanna know your thoughts on this:

In a leaked letter sent to Spain's outgoing President, the US ambassador to the country warned that as punishment for not passing a SOPA-style file-sharing site blocking law, Spain risked being put on a United States trade blacklist . Inclusion would have left Spain open to a range of "retaliatory options" but already the US was working with the incoming government to reach its goals. (more in link)

Disappointing.

I'm definitely going to have to look I to this; I had no idea we were just skipping the Red Unix idea and globally moderating the Internet at the source. I guess that makes sense, if our government doesn't want to be accused of communism in light of its socialistic Big Business dealings.

This is not communism; this is obvious protection of businesses.
