More propaganda? Hasn't there been enough of this on the site already?

The Israelis are declaring a ceasefire in order to allow humanitarian aid into Gaza. A ground assault is still likely.

Wonder how many billions of our tax dollars will be given to Hamas and the Palestinians to agree to this ceasefire. No matter what happens, the American tax payer will loose.

Instead of a cease fire, how about we let them fight it out and go for "Unconditional Surrender" If one is going to look at history with a shred of intellectual honesty we all know that a cease fire is a waste of time.

I think a better solution is to cut off aid to Israel and sell arms to both sides. Why am I paying for this nonsense to continue? They should pay me.

Will it last? No, the Israelis are spoling for a fight:

With many Israelis bitterly disappointed that the government did not "finish off" Hamas, MK Michael Ben-Ari launched a stinging attack against Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu in the wake of the cease-fire Israel agreed to Wednesday night. Netanyahu "failed in battle," Ben-Ari said Thursday.

Netanyahu's fatal error, said Ben-Ari, was settling for a cease-fire that, at best, would last for a couple of months - "and already on Wednesday night we saw that it had no material substance, considering that Gaza terrorists fired rockets at Israel after the cease-fire was supposed to start," he said. "This is a battle for the future, and Hamas has won that battle clearly," he said.

"In agreeing to the cease-fire, Netanyahu also contradicted himself, said Ben-Ari. "During the last elections Netanyahu promised to destroy Hamas, that he knew how to beat Hamas, and other empty slogans." Clearly Netanyahu did not succeed, and those who had placed their hopes in the "tougher" Avigdor Lieberman are also sorely disappointed, considering that Netanyahu and Lieberman are now not only political partners, but both signed off on Wednesday's cease-fire deal. "The choices for right-wing voters are much more limited now," he said.

"People are very disappointed," he said of the aftermath of Operation Pillar of Defense. "They wanted the operation to continue until Hamas was destroyed. Unfortunately that did not happen, but today I hear more and more people saying that they finally realize that they were wrong about Netanyahu " that he has lied to the public, made promises that he cannot or will not keep. Now in the next election he must pay the price.

"On Wednesday, hundreds of people in Beersheva, Ashdod, and Kiryat Malachi demanded that Netanyahu resign," said Ben-Ari. "These are intelligent people, who understand that Netanyahu has failed. They are demanding leaders who not only speak well on television, but also do what they say they will do," he added.

Also:

In the long-term, the only solution to the security situation is to restore Israeli control over the Gaza Strip. We must return to the situation we were in twenty years ago, but this time, with the clear conviction that this land belongs to the Jewish nation, we have returned to the land after two thousand years of exile, and we will never abandon it. Any Arab, who wants to treat us with dignity and respect, can live an honorable life. Anyone who wants to fight? We will fight him with all our might.

To achieve this, we need to strengthen Israeli consciousness significantly. It could be that even without proper strengthening, the security situation will force us to return to complete military control in the Gaza Strip, just as the army controls Judea and Samaria today. But even then, without a profound exploration of Israel"s destiny, there will never be quiet.

I guess we will just have to wait and see if this cease-fire will last. It wouldn't, however, surprise me if they start killing each other after some weeks or months.

Didn't have to wait long, less than 48 hours. Now we will do the same thing again and expect a different result. The only solution to this is a fight to the end with unconditional surrender. Read a history book. Never mind, very few learn anything from history, especially the history and results of cease fires between Israel and the Palestinians. Let the ridiculous and insane attempt at another ceasefire take place, and then watch all involved scratch their heads in perplexed bewilderment when it doesn't work.

Ceasefire? I don't think so. Just go to Twitter, Facebook, YouTube.. and the cyber war of words go on. I think no one's winning here so why broadcast body count, who killed who exactly. I saw on eQuibbly that they're voting on going for or against social media censorship this time and I'd say it's about time. There's a big difference between freedom of speech and hate speech.
