Come on, you're a depressed rural farmer who just wants to come into town for a drink on a friday night. Do the right thing, vote yes to drunk driving.

i think it should be noted that the only enforceable way for police officers to arrest people drunk driving is if they act like they're drunk driving.

In Ireland?
Here in the states cops case bars and set up sobriety check points. Plenty are arrested for being over the limit without driving recklessly.
I've always been curious what .08 felt like. Is it noticeably tipsy or as soon as you start to feel it are you way over?

Yes, there are sobriety check points, however, its not as if you have to take a brealizer test. You usually just go through the checkpoints and make sure you're not driving like a drunk person. At least that's been my experience at a checkpoint.

4 beers in 30 minutes is .087

What do the Libertarians here think of this?

Today at work there was a proposition that we publish the locations of people on a map who committed 5 DUIs or more in order to discourage drunk driving and promote sobriety.

Libertarian opinion?

Get back to me when you're of age, allowing some guy to drive his back country road home after having 4 beers in a half hour is fine. He's not endangering anyone. If he's wasted he obviously shouldn't get behind the wheel of a car. .08 isn't some magic number, its part of a continuum that drastically differs from person to person and can be relaxed in rural ireland .

States that .08 isn't a magic number, while decrying Oberherr's arguments because he's not some magical number.

Lines are arbitrary. The line between passing and failing is an arbitrary number. However, that doesn't mean its useful to make the distinction.
