I imagine security will be heightened in general for this years anniversary.

The US administration probably wants to take every precaution this time around.

I have to agree, but I think that they are going to target a port like Boston or possibly LA since those are America's weak spots.

Oh please.... Al-Qaeda hasn't attacked a target on US soil since 9/11... If there is an attack it will surely not be a major American city. History indicates it will probably be an attack on a US embassy located in a country that most Americans don't give two sh*ts about or could even find on a map

We certainly can't say there won't be an attack on US soil, but it does seem unlikely to happen this 9/11 given the lack of any success (while attempts have been made) and the continued increase in security measures to prevent it. It's just easier for them to focus on targets over seas.

Soft targets locally would have the dramatic effect they are looking for (and be simpler to pull off) even if the casualty count is relatively low, but it doesn't seem to be the MO, or lead to success recently for whatever reason.

This is some complete BS. Obama has effectively cupped our nuts in his hand and cut them off. He has shown not only our enemies that they can win, that they can force us to retreat and that if they hold out we will give up, but he has also shown our allies that we will not stand up to the enemy, we will not be there to defend the, we don't trust them and we are not really allies. He has destroyed nearly all American credibility, ruined our relationships with our allies, and bolstered the moral of our enemies while simultaneously blinded the majority of the ignorant, undereducated Americans that the "enemy has been defeated and what is left is on the run." What bull crap. So while our enemie ever grows stronger and has gained the courage to have the audacity to attack our embassy's and bases, the ignorant sheepel America voters have this ridicules fantasy that our enemy is dead and gone, the world loves us, and were safer then we've ever been. How stupid are they? This decision to close the embassy's was a message. A message to all the world that the US is afraid. That we want out. And that we can't fight. Rather then respond to these terrorist plot claims like a true American should, by bolstering security in the danger areas and sending the enemy a message that says "let them come. When you do will just kill you then go hunt down and kill all your little terrorist buddies wherever they hide." Which sends a message of strength and courage and resolve and tells our enemies that we will NOT back down and that we will fight terrorism. Instead we do thinks like evacuate completely out of Yemen? Sad time for the US. And most of us don't even realize or hell, even know about it. Even fewer care :(

They haven't to make people like you that hold this opinion think they won't, then when they do the element of surprise is on their side.

Not sure how much of this I believe. I don't think (I maybe wrong) that Al-Qaeda even took responsibility for 9/11. I don't think they came out and said out right they did it. I am careful to believe this sort of statement as they may be prepared to launch another home grown attack. think about it, the terrorists they claim did it, some are still alive and well. they got phone calls from relatives to say they are Americas most wanted! they had no idea of what all the fuss was about. plus they were on the other side of the world when it happened.

fair enough, give me a bit to look it up. I do remember seeing the actual guys in an interview. I have spent years going through both sides, and the terrorists side does not add up

This is highly based on neglect of propability. If there is higher emotional pain/shock involved in something very unlikely to happen, people can be ready to give almost as much as to prevent an event that will probably happen.
Where is the "We are winning! We are not afraid!" attitude? Oh, they will just use this as an excuse to spy more on citizens.

But yet the US has shut down several embassies because of the threat in the Middle East alone.

yeah I totally hear what you are saying, I promise I am not trying to stir you, I am saying that it dose not make any sense. I really do believe they trickle this information to us so we support the war, shut up and do as we are told because they are a real threat. okay I understand the entire they are bad and trying to hurt us, and we must be there and bomb them, basically kill them all.
There really are military men coming home and are saying that they do not believe it what took place, this is on youtube, newspapers everywhere.
The real question is why?
there was lots of hype in 06/07 over the high jackers that is what first sparked my interest. I followed Killtown, Loose change, a whole host in search of info and there was not a lot in support of terrorists.
We also must never forget where did the terrorist get the weaponry?
Who implemented their training in the first place?
