Why, exactly, is this still going on in public schools?

"On a science test, their teacher had included a fill-in-the-blank question: 'ISN'T IT AMAZING WHAT THE _____________ HAS MADE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!' When my stepson didn't know the answer ('Lord'), she belittled him in front of the entire class. When he wrote in 'Lord Buddha' on another exam, she marked it wrong. As she was returning that exam to students, one student proclaimed aloud that 'people are stupid if they think God is not real.' In response, my stepson's teacher agreed, telling the class, 'Yes! That is right! I had a student miss that on his test.' The entire class broke out in laughter at my stepson.

The same teacher also told our children that the Bible is '100 percent true,' that the Earth was created by God 6,000 years ago, and that evolution is 'impossible' and a 'stupid theory made up by stupid people who don't want to believe in God.' She's also told the class that Buddhism is 'stupid.'"

I really don't see how anyone can honestly support this. It is one thing to teach an idea that only has any mainstream acceptance among the public due to religion. It is another thing to harass and call out others because they disagree with religion on an issue, and it is another thing to use taxpayer money to pay the person doing this.

If your religion is so weak you have to target children with constant religious indoctrination cause adults who have not being indoctrinated by your religion are more resistant to it.......................

I love the fact that a christian would call another persons religion........stupid. Oh gawd the irony.

In short, piece of sh*t human beings, piece of sh*t teachers, piece of sh*t of school.

In other words.........bible belt. Did I step over a line here ?

Classic Christian Fundamentalism bs. Fundamentalists love to gather round Fox News and lament about the war on Christianity.

The irony about that is they don't understand that gov staying out of religion is what lays the foundation for their ability to practice their jacked up beliefs in the first place.

These are the same people who talk about freedom out of one side of the mouth, but really have no grasp at what freedom really is.

The ACLU will bring those misguided folks down, but that poor kid and family will have to endure eternal hatred from that town because they will not see what they did to that kid as harassment.

Why,
Exactly

exactly
So we agree

is this still going on in public schools?
I thought we were in agreement.

"On a science test, their teacher had included a fill-in-the-blank question: 'ISN'T IT AMAZING WHAT THE _____________ HAS MADE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!'
Well she should be fired for bad grammar then.

When he wrote in 'Lord Buddha' on another exam, she marked it wrong.
Because it is.

As she was returning that exam to students, one student proclaimed aloud that 'people are stupid if they think God is not real.' In response, my stepson's teacher agreed, telling the class, 'Yes! Was this in Kansas by chance?

The same teacher also told our children that the Bible is '100 percent true,' that the Earth was created by God 6,000 years ago, and that evolution is 'impossible' and a 'stupid theory made up by stupid people who don't want to believe in God.' She's also told the class that Buddhism is 'stupid.'"
What if it is?

I really don't see how anyone can honestly support this. It is one thing to teach an idea that only has any mainstream acceptance among the public due to religion.
Sorry, in just don't understand what you're trying to say XD

It is another thing to harass and call out others because they disagree with religion on an issue, and it is another thing to use taxpayer money to pay the person doing this.
Or to fund Obamacare. Cut them all off! All your failed programs are belong to me now >:D

Isn't it amazing how everyone came here and begin generalization and harassing all Christians based off one story... And then they think they're the better people. It's thread is a bundle of hypocrisy and generalization.

i just think its downright stupidity. And it could've been any religion. You could've changed the religious context with any religion and it wouldn't change how stupid and real such persecution is. it is stupid to think that only christianity does this when EVERY FVCKING RELIGION does it
Epsilon: There are so many stories where some brave hero decides to give their life to save the day, and because of their sacrifice, the good guys win, the survivors all cheer, and everybody lives happily ever after. But the hero... never gets to see that ending. They'll never know if their sacrifice actually made a difference. They'll never know if the day was really saved. In the end, they just have to have faith.

I agree completely with what you said. And now, in regards to an earlier post by someone else:
We do not all gather around the Fox News Channel. And even if we did, it has no more of a right wing bias than the other channels have a left wing bias.
Here are some examples of what left wing media bias is:
A. A news channel that always talks positively about the ACA, blaming any shortcomings on insurance companies and/or the Republicans.
B. A news channel that always speaks positively of gay marriage, and negatively about anyone who opposes it.
C. Any news channel that portrayed Phil Robertson in a primarily negative light during his recent controversies instead of taking up a neutral viewpoint and letting the viewers decide for themselves.
A,B, and C describe the large majority of news networks.

Fox News is biased, yes. But so is just about every other news channel out there. The only difference is that Fox News has a right wing bias, and many liberals cannot stand to see the left wing media have any competition from the other side. News in general is supposed to be neutral, but those days are long gone.

I'm glad Fox news is such a champion of Christianity. Now I shall go buy some pornography at the Fox News branded store at the airport and enjoy their conservative bias.

You are kidding yourself if you think they possess that bias because it is right. The possess it because it makes them money just like selling porn does at the airport.

This is wrong. I permit teaching Creation in schools, but not shoving it down people's throats like this.

It's about Bible Belt schools. One school is too much.
