"Chinese Vice Foreign Minister He Yafei said the proposals would have a 'serious negative impact' on co-operation between the US and China."

"the Chinese government was "strongly indignant" about the arms sales. Beijing has previously warned the US not to go ahead with arms sales to Taiwan."

"The arms package includes 114 Patriot missiles, 60 Black Hawk helicopters and communications equipment for Taiwan's F-16 fleet, the agency said in a statement."

What do you guys think about this? Granted the U.S. will get cash out of it, but do you think it could lead to any serious backlash by China?

USA did it just to piss of China.

Second Cold War anyone?

Not sure it will go that far. If anything China will likely hold a test fire soon in the relevant waters. :P

Annoying China maybe. Desperate for income. More likely.

Probably also a way to throw out tons of sh!t America had in their attic - the things are outdated in comparison to current American military technology anyway.
