Can what seems like a good idea, have such stupid reasoning.

A Virgina state congressperson introduced a bill that would prohibit microchips being forcibly implanted into people. Now, at first glance, that doesn't seem so bad; if anything, it seems pretty good. But, of course, there is more to this story.

Mark Cole, that congressperson, said that he was bringing in this bill because "...there's a prophecy in the Bible that says you'll have to receive a mark, or you can neither buy nor sell things in end times. Some people think these computer chips might be that mark."

... Seriously? How do these people manage to get elected?

The funny thing about this is that it is in the bible that one day there will be a mark inserted into people. I doubt that chip will be it, but even if it was it is in the bible! He can not stop it.

By making people afraid of things like microchips.

I know, right? Wouldn't this be an exercise in futility if its in the Bible and is bound to happen no matter what? And especially if he believes it enough to introduce a bill based on fuzzy Bible prophecy, shouldn't he have taken that into consideration?

I am already very afraid of microchips.

Especially the government forcibly implanting them.

Stop using your computer.

Especially the government forcibly implanting them.

For the same reasons as Mark Cole? If yes, then you're an idiot. If no, then its understandable.

I didn't say all microchips :) just what they could be used for.

Though I am a little afraid of my computer... I'd be more so if I had more important info on there, or carried on needfully private conversations on there though.

Having a healthy fear of both Power and of Government is most reasonable.

I thought that lot was supposed to be looking forward to the apocalypse.

Are they including convicted criminals in the bill?
It came to be at its height. It was commanded to command. It was a capital before its first stone was laid. It was a monument to the spirit of man.

Matt... think fast! http://media.digikey.com...

Agreed. However, having an unfounded fear based on fuzzy Biblical prophecy... not so much.
