A bunch of high-ranking Polish officials were killed in a plane crash today in Western Russia. No foul play is suspected. 97 people in total died. This is tragic.

Notable Dead:
- President
- Army Chief of Staff
- Navy Chief Commander
- Head of the Air Force
- Head of the Land Forces
- National Bank President
- Deputy Foreign Minister
- Head of the National Security Office
- Deputy Parliament Speaker
- Army Chaplain
- Olympic Committee Head
- Civil Rights Commissioner
- Two Presidential Aides
- Three Lawmakers

I can only imagine what this would look like if it had occurred in the US. The two most notable dead would be Barack Obama and Ben Bernanke, arguably the two most powerful people in the world. Policy-wise, I feel this would lead to a good change for the US. But I obviously would think this would have a negative impact on the US, much like it would for every other country.

I was thinking the same thing, what are the odds out of all the planes that that one would crash.

You do realize Joe Biden would become President, right?

But I obviously would think this would have a negative impact on the US, much like it would for every other country.

Ahuh.

Yes, it is such a pity for a country to loose so many high ranking military officials in one day.
RIP

Is it loose or lose ?

Hmm... But missiles would have been obvious. Maybe it was disabled through radiocommunications? That would also be noticable. I doubt Russia did it.

Yes. There were witnesses, including Polish journalists who saw it from their hotel rooms. The plan crashed right outside of the airport in Smolensk, as it was coming into the landing during bad weather and apparently skimmed the tops of trees, hit the ground, and kaboom. There were no reports of explosions from anyone until it hit the ground.
