It's sad really. The best we can hope for is something from the Wall Street Journal, but the bulk of everything is crap. I don't even mean this in a usual rant that I would have about it being left leaning. All of it is crap.

There have been some major changes in Britain, and our coverage is horrendous. Just telling us there is a new Prime Minister (way after it took place), without all of the various implications, and what led up to the current politics of the UK is just disappointing at best. I am not a fan of the BBC, but at least they have broad coverage.

It is no surprise the American people have no idea what is going on in the world. I talk to some people about issues in our own hemisphere and I feel like taking a hammer to my head (or theirs).

Freedom of the press has devolved into lazy cheap entertainment.

Luckily, there is access to the Internet, and there you can stay updated all the time.

I don't worry so much about me. I'm pretty good at finding stuff out via various media, but those who are glued to the set are sad cases.

I feel the same way. But now that the youngsters are addicted to the Internet, it probably will not be as much of a problem later on.

I agree 100%. I can't stand US news channels. I only watch MSNBC because Olbermann gives m a chuckle and there's nothing on between 8 and 9.

I stick to CBC and BBC. Two public broadcasters which far outstrip any of the private broadcasters in any country. BBC especially; if you ever want to see a great interviewer in action, one who will quite literally tear any person to shreds, you must watch Jeremy Paxman.

My friend and I were just discussing this the other day, about how the American televised news is really quite unreliable since it's generally one sided. This friend is quite apolitical and even she took note that things like Fox should not be considered News.

Liberals always take offense to Fox, so they are the one that must be doing something right, but i maintain that they are all horrible.

My friend isn't a liberal. She's pretty much apathetic and doesn't usually follow politics, but on the issues she does follow she classifies herself as conservative. So no, Fox News really is biased crap.

If "something" begins at "above zero", then yes, I agree.

No, but I still had to make the point that North Korean news would be pretty bad too. :P

US is better than UK.
UK politics is same as the Indian Politics (Dirty)
US Politics is clean and transparent

There is a little too much going on throughout the world to know the fine details of the current events of every nation.

How about a small amount of what is going on, that is most important to what is shaping our current world, and the world that may be in our midst. Versus the orchestrated pablum that's produced in vast quantities to entertain the the dwindling few who still watch.
