Huh, so some Muslims support such a ban. Interesting.

I don't think they are a Muslim country in the way Iran is, they are more secular, but again horribly repressive in a different way. They fear radical Islam.

Yea, they are secular, kinda like Saddam's Iraq, but not so authoritarian?

Not sure about that authoritarian part. Maybe compared to Saddam, but still - not a place i would want to retire.

Authoritarian probably isn't the right word, but there isn't Syrian leaders gassing anybody or anything like that, like Saddam did with the Kurdish population.

Yeah, well they've seen what it has done to some of their neighbours. Tbh I would probably do the same thing if I was in power in Syria. Radical Islam is bad mmmkay.

Yep. Islam itself is fine, but as soon as it turns radical then there's a problem. Most of the scholars are full of sh*t too.

Yea, pretty much though. Seriously though, so many of the islamic scholars are full of sh*t. There was one who apparently said that women are forbidden to go into mosques.

That's exactly right. If anyone thinks that the moderate Muslim countries are against Israel's overall stance against the radical countries you would be wrong. Although they would never come out and support Israel, there are many who are okay with their stance against Iran.

Yea, I pretty much stopped caring what islamic scholars have to say. I just want a personal relationship with God and I don't need scholars or anybody else to tell me what to do.

well... since you believe Jesus=God... I guess listening to Jesus would be "listening to god"...

This is not true. They are allowed to do so. Men are obligated to pray five times a day in mosques, but women can do it there or at home. Nothing is supposed to tell them not to go to the mosque. These scholars that you refer to seem to be unknown, and are not following the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), to an extent.

I know they're supposed to be allowed in mosques. That's why I'm saying that they're liars and full of sh*t for saying women can't go into mosques.

the burka could make a handy tool for black marketeers... it'd be like an undertakers jacket only for the face. and you'd have a good argument if someone wanted to search you.

Really? A Muslim girlfriend of mine isn't allowed to go into her local mosque because she is a woman.

Well that's absurd because according to Islam women are supposed to be allowed in mosques, it's just not a requirement like it is for men. If there's a mosque available all men have to go there for the friday prayers. Woman can go too, but only if they want to.

Actually, men have to go to all the congregational prayers in the mosque.
