Another earthquake has hit Nepal around the capital and Mount Everest. It's a 7.3, the previous was a 7.8. It has been followed by a 6.3 aftershock.

Honestly, I was really surprised that "aftershocks" could've been that violent.

Records dating to 1255 AD indicate the region"known as the Indus-Yarlung suture zone"experiences a magnitude-8 earthquake approximately every 75 years, according to a report by Nepal"s National Society for Earthquake Technology. The tremor occurred like clockwork, 81 years after the region"s last earthquake of such a magnitude, in 1934. [1]

I'm sure you learned about tectonic plates in your highschool science or geology classes. The reason is the regular movement of the fault line that runs along Nepal"s southern border, where the Indian subcontinent collided with the Eurasia plate.

Perhaps if an earthquake occurred where there are no fault lines, then you could quote a biblical verse like that, but in this case it's pretty evident what caused this and why.

Other than that, I think it sucks. The people of Nepal have been suffering for so long by the hand of the Chinese. The last thing they need is natural disasters. I hope they can make a swift recovery, but to be perfectly honest their future doesn't look too bright. I'd like to visit the region someday, it'd be really neat to experience such a rich and ancient culture first-hand.
