The good church had its first ceremony on the 1st of July. Absolutely genius. Some will call it a sham, but who are they to say what anyone can or can't worship.

I also saw a news article about a satanist group trying to get a statue of some demon in OK, but since OK just ruled they can't put the 10 commandments monument on state ground, they will target another state.

I absolutely love both of these which are clearly attempts of citizens to point out the absurdity of various laws and gov institutions. If I ever won the lottery, I would make it my job to mess around with states in this type of manner.

I don't believe there is any affiliation to the Indiana Church of Cannabis. There is also a marijuana related worship group in Northern California.

The Indiana one just popped up because the Religious Freedom Act went into effect in IN. I wouldn't be surprised in the IN church was formed because the guy truly wants to worship marijuana, but I would suspect the donations, means to make a living, and attraction to leadership are all reasons why he is starting it, just like many in Christianity are attracted to starting and running a church.

All the people protesting this guy stating it is not a real church can't truly know intent and they have no standing to restrict this guys religious freedom while from the other side of their mouths saying they need religious freedom to discriminate against those that live lives they disagree with.

Agreed
the church in Amsterdam is actually called the Church of Cantheism

I wouldn't be surprised if the are numerous cannabis dominations along the west coast and Colorado. An organization that is non-profit/church get great tax benefits and I wouldn't be surprised if many churchs were started on that premise

All the people protesting this guy stating it is not a real church can't truly know intent and they have no standing to restrict this guys religious freedom while from the other side of their mouths saying they need religious freedom to discriminate against those that live lives they disagree with.

I wonder how much of a fight the state will make, Needless to say Indiana's extreme in their conservatism.
