Most active DDOians are INxx I'd say.

I'm INTJ.

Really? What do the other letters represent?

You've never heard of the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI)?

I - introverted
N - intuition
T - thinking
J - judgement

There's plenty of online tests you can take to see what MBTI you are.

There are 16 possible combinations... or types.

I think it is almost ensured that 95% of people that spend a lot of time on the internet introverts. Though an interesting idea arrises out of this. Obviously, by our open communication online (for many of us) we take on an "extrovert" personality while online, even though we may be an "introvert" in real life. I never really liked the labels "introvert" and "extrovert" since everyone is an "extrovert" once they are with people they are comfortible with, it only depends on how quickly and willing people are to get comtortible with strangers. An "extrovert" will open up quickly, while an "introvert" will open up slowly, but all will eventually open up with time.

Ore Ida. I think people who use social networks like this are comfortable with
opening up slowly. While I tend to think also that people who use the internet are
social by nature anyway. Introverts tend to be people with multiple accounts
and cancel them unexpectedly. Like some of you do here. LOL

I just wiki'd it and it says it was extrapolated from Jung's work.
Analytical psychology was one of the perspectives not covered during my study of the subject. And I've never taken a personality test.

But the thing is, in real life, I'm nothing like I am on DDO. Well, actually I'm exactly like I am on DDO, but I don't open up about interests said on DDO to people in real life. I actually avoid talking politics with ANYONE in real life, bar none. sometimes I talk about them with my wife, but usually she is just curious and asking a question.

Ore Ele. I agree. You are acting more natural when it comes to an issue
that conflicts or has your best interest at heart. DDO does that to you.
But if this was one of those lame sites such as FaceBook or Twitter.
Then I can see one easily being an introvert. Because it is only about
lighthearted fellowship and less about confrontation.

As per the test I took now, i am INFP. However, only N (Intuitive) is strongly expressed. A few years ago, I think I was ENTP!

I am quite comfortable among large group of people when needed and can express my opinion clearly. However, at the end of the day, I prefer being alone, reading some book or poetry.

Strong extrovert, but sometimes, I need "Charles time." (the part of the day when everyone leaves Charles alone)

well i think thats down to your misunderstanding of the terms then. "introvert" doesn't mean someone who lives entirely in their own head, it means someone who generally takes longer to get comfortable around new people/large groups of people and generally spends more time alone. even an introvert can get excited about certain topics/around certain people.

also for the record i am an INFP. waiting for ya'll to respect me less :P
evidently i only come to ddo to avoid doing homework...

Of course I don't think that it means that they prefer to be in their own head. But one of the classic signs is that they prefer to be by themselves rather than with a group. All I'm saying is that it entirely depends on who is in the group. A group of my close friends, that over time I've already opened up to, and I would appear identical to any extrovert.

HA. Explains a lot. I'm an extrovert (ENTP / ENTJ). I don't see why this matters though; everyone needs to interact with others on this site or else they'd just have a blog. Some people should probably stick to a blog.
