It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness, it was the epoch of belief, it was the epoch of incredulity, it was the season of darkness, it was the spring of hope, it was the winter of despair, we had everything before us, we have nothing before us, we were all going direct to heaven, we were all going direct the other way...

Ironically, I was thinking about that sentence while writing one of my foreign language assignments....though finding it wasn't the purpose of this thread.

How does Human Action read?

I haven't read the whole thing, but the parts I've read get a bit confusing to be honest.

"Of Man's first disobedience, and the fruit
Of that forbidden tree whose mortal taste
Brought death into the World, and all our woe,
With loss of Eden, till one greater Man
Restore us, and regain the blissful seat,"--Paradise Lost

I tried to read Paradise Lost but found little time or energy to complete. However, Milton's rich verse, understanding of morality, Christian theology, and use of imagery and theme for the reader must be commended.

"Halfway down a by-street of one of our New England towns stands a rusty wooden house, with seven acutely peaked gables, facing towards various points of the compass, and a huge, clustered chimney in the midst. The street is Pyncheon Street; the house is the old Pyncheon House; and an elm-tree, of wide circumference, rooted before the door, is familiar to every town-born child by the title of the Pyncheon Elm."
