Never. And I know there was a thread saying nothing can shock you on the web these days. But I saw a video last night, and cried my eyes out. Like, literally was balling as I watched it. It made me so sad, sadder than anything I've ever been through with my families divorce, people I sorta knew dying, ect...

Anyway, why does crying make you feel better? I felt total relief after (not having cried in years.) It's very odd.

Crying is healing. It has to do something with the hormones, i am guessing.

There's a reason that women usually have less deep rooted psychological problems than males.

Just out of curiosity, what was the video about?

A video of a little girl crying and showing pictures of her older sister who was raped and killed.

Crying causes neurotransmitters like serotonin and dopamine to flow through your brain.
But we try to pretend, you see, that the external world exists altogether independently of us.

That's pretty neat, never heard of it before. It reminds me of binaural brainwave entrainment which I use occasionally.

If you're as much of a lush as you make yourself out to be, I'm willing to bet you've cried within the last 24 hours. xD

I'd second that. According to everyone, you're always drunk on here, which I guess means you're always drinking by yourself.

I think the situation is horribly sad, but I don't find the video in particular sad enough to cry over.

The crying was as emotional as I would have expected.

I almost never drink alone; I just always come onto DDO after a night out. Thats normally when most American's nights are just starting, so I can see why the assumption might be made.

Oh, then my apologies.
