Yes, I think I see that it does not recognize non-English characters. At first I saw the " and I was like 'what the (word that it tells me I can't use)!' but now I get it, it's only for English. Oops!

That's frustrating, though, that it does not use characters from other languages. That should be looked into, I think.

If characters from languages besides English were to be used, then the site could cater to a larger group of users, namely the multilingual and even those who do not speak any English.

I would like that too. Personally, I hate how it changes dashes from any quote into quotation marks. 'Tis annoying.
"See now Oblivion shimmering all around us, its very tranquility deadlier than tempest. How little all our keels have troubled it."
- Lord Dunsany -

"Over her head the stars, the thoughts of God in the heavens,
Shone on the eyes of man, who had ceased to marvel and worship"
- Henry Longfellow -

"We enjoy, we see nothing by direct vision; but only by reflection, and in anatomical dismemberment."
- Thomas Carlyle -
