Wouldn't this be one of the most hurtful things? I actually know a couple of guys who got severely emotional from being called a pedophile. They acted like this was the only word that hurt them the most.

Thoughts?

I think calling anyone a pedophile (or cougar) is one of the most hurtful things.
Think'st thou heaven is such a glorious thing?
I tell thee, 'tis not half so fair as thou
Or any man that breathes on earth.

For women, it's different. It just is.

No kidding, a friend of mine's wife called him a pedophile.

He told her that was a very big word for a nine year old, but it was still very hurtful I think.

Why would anyone call someone a pedophile for any reason other than to accuse them of actually being a pedophile? It's not exactly just an insult along the lines if calling someone a motherf***er.

The term cougar may be offensive but a cougar does not necessarily sleep with underage people.

I have often wondered why but you are right it is competley different. Men are often accused of being pedophiles and recive arrest and all kinds of threatening behaivour over one baseless accusation, yet no one seems bothered when there are women involved. It is just another example of the rampant sexism in todays society.

Depends, are you talking about serious accusation or a joking "keep him away from your kids, mate"? The former is fvcking insulting, while the latter is a display of friendship where I come from.
