Gather around the campfire kiddos, it's time for some cliche get to know each other time.

I've been here for about 8 months and I really don't even know the basics of a lot of members, so let's dedicate this topic to just getting to know each other a little more!

Talk about your favorite sports to watch, to play, favorite hobbies, colors, talk about your personality, how you interact with others, what your opinion on politics, religion, people are, talk about your family, school, how old you are, what things you value most, talk about EEEVVVVVEEERRRYTHING!!!!

I'll start us off.

I'm Chris. I am nicknamed Chrispy by my family, and my siblings' friends. I hate being called Chrispy by people my own age but I like it as a pet name from older people.

I am well liked by people, and I also like people. When people dislike me it is generally either due to one or two things:
1. Me being annoying (I admit I can be pretty annoying)
2. Bad first impression that happened because of some misunderstanding.
I love people, and I value socialization with others more than many things in my life.
I'm the type of guy that gets really crazy, hyper, and into things when I socialize. I wish I had more friends who were like that because I think life is more fun that way. I love girls. <--- 'Nuf said right there.

My favorite color used to be blue, but for the past couple of years it has been red.

I used to be the star player on my school baseball team when I was younger, but when we couldn't get a time going a few years back I ended up dropping baseball, and all my skills I had in it. I started doing track in 5th grade and I've been doing it since. I also used to play basketball when I was a lot younger, then I quit, but I took it back up in 6th grade. I'm not very good at basketball, I only joined the team because all of my best friends were on it. I played till 8th grade and now that I'm in Highschool (Freshman) I don't do any sports except track. As for watching sports, I enjoy watching Basketball and Baseball, but I don't really follow either.

I am a conservative. I got my political ideologies from my father who is an absolute hardcore Conservative. Ever since I joined this site though I have dropped some of my father's more extreme opinions on things, but I still hold them in lose terms. I am a Catholic Christian. I didn't really acre about my faith till 6th grade. In 7th grade I went through some tough times and ever since then I've been a very strong Catholic. This last summer I started falling away from my faith and I turned more into a Deist, but I have recently come back into Catholicism once again.

I come in a relatively large family. I am the youngest of three other siblings, and i am also the youngest out of my entire family (cousins included). The average age of my cousins is about 22ish, and I'm 15. I also wished I was older because my cousins are awesome I would like to have been able to relate to them more.

I don't know what I want to be when I grow up, but I specifically know I want to do something big. Something game changing. I don't want to be another man it settles down and works the same job for the rest of his life. I wish to perhaps join the Seminary and become a Priest, then travel around the world helping others in need.

I came to realize that we all only get one life, and one chance to live it well. That is why I aspire to such a big plan for my life. I want to live and experience everything this world has to offer.

Now that's enough about me, tell us about yourselves!

Heylo, I'm Britni. Yes it's really spelled like that -_- And yes i said "heylo", it's a combination of "hey" and "hello" and is an awesome word. I hate watching sports, except for the occasional hockey or MMA game, because i like the violence. As far as hobbies go, I watch movies I guess. Joined the Chemistry club at my university because why not. Oh yeah, and I play vidya games. I like red and black for colors, even though black isn't a color. I mostly don't interact with others. I'm an anarchist, but I'm of the variety that hopes it does lead to chaos because that'd be cool. As far as beliefs go, "If there is a God, he will have to beg me for my forgiveness". My family consists of my aunt (who is basically amazing), uncle, and cousin. Yeah, i have some family issues but i'm not going into that here because this is not meant as an invitation for me to be a whiny b!tch. I'm a Chem major at my university! Graduated in January with my 2-year degree from a community college and transferred here. Yeah, i graduated at 16. Was Christian homeschooled before that, except for the two years that I skipped and the first few years of school. I'm also bored of taking about me now and i'm procrastinating on a lab report so i'm going to go do that now. Bye!

I am stranger, I have existed on this planet and on this site for an agreeable amount of time. I enjoy my blissful existence which involves a lot of pointing and laughing at the worlds sad current state of affairs. I am attracted to neither men nor women and enjoy listening to David Bowie. I do not believe I am here for any distinct purpose.
Turn around, go back.

Hi everybody, I'm Robert, but I have a few friends who call me Robjob. I'm a person who tends to care a lot for people interpersonally, but I also tend to be overly-rational when I really shouldn't be, giving my friends harsh realities and analysis of situations, but I think that my friends have grown to like that honesty. I am generally extroverted, but I can still appreciate some alone-time.

I play guitar, bass, ukulele, harmonica, and melodica, though I'm only skilled at the first three. I've been acting since I was six, and I've been in dozens of plays and musicals since then. I'm a senior in high school, and since my sophomore year, I've been directing one acts at my school. I am also a board member of a non-profit organization.

Prior to joining this site, I was generally republican leaning, with the only real area of contest being gay rights. Now I've become less politically identifiable, though I guess the most accurate description would be that I'm a libertarian who, in certain instances, likes socialism.

Above most things, I value education.

When I was in kindergarten, I would go to school early so I could catch bugs and release them outside. I did this so nobody would kill them.

Not being published.

Realizing that such a thing is impossible to define.

I was sort of reluctant to share this, but I think it's funny -and accurate:

(Said to me by a friend of mine)

Your personality has all the punctuality of the Germans, the pretension of the French, the precision of the Swiss, the pleasantry of the British, and the paroxysm of the Russians.

My response:

At least I don't have the pandaemonium of the Italians. That's a relief.

my name is Dan Bench, yes my last name is actually bench, hence the DDO name 'imabench'. Im 20 but still a kid at heart and I am uber liberal-democrat on a lot of issues except for a handful of them (I still like the death penalty and im pro right-to-work) and I came to DDO a year and a half ago as part of an English assignment in my UM class to find an online place of intelligent people discussing events and ideas and sh*t.

I joined and I was a clean cut legit debator for five months straight, I wasnt particularly good but people began to recognize me sheerly through the number of debates I did in my early days. I averaged about 35-40 debates a month for 7 months straight which got me a lot of undeserved attention, and then everything changed with one debate I had. There was a debate called 'poop has DNA' that I trolled the ever loving f*ck out of, and it was so popular it transformed me into the troll I am today, but most of you already know that.

Im almost normal in weird life (I have dyed my hair green and made ridiculous signs for football games now and then) and I used facebook and DDO to defrag my head of all its craziness so that I can live a semi-normal life.

I am a catholic but most people dont know that because apparently I act like a huge atheist on here. I simply poke fun at my own religion a lot because I realize that Chritianity just doesnt make any sense at times. im also scrawny as sh*t. Im 5'8 on a good day and I weigh no more than 140 lbs on any given day. I come on DDO when im bored and also when my dumba** democrat friends are doing something retarded and I need to get away from it all..... As a poli sci major in an ultra liberal school, i am surrounded by liberals and while its nice at times, most of the time it is unbearable.

I like tennis, swimming, and I absolutely love movies. I own rewards cards for many different movie theaters and I go to the movies at least once every two weeks to see movies, and I usually go alone just because I like to get there really early to get good seats and not miss any previews.

I am still a virgin but Im not annoyed by it at all, tbh I couldnt give a smaller sh*t about having sex, and I also have never had a gf because I too dont give a sh*t about trying to get one. I despise and love living in the state of florida because it is warm year round yet I have been stabbed before (In the leg, nothing major, dont worry)

If I had to pick one interesting thing about me that no one knows about: its that I somehow went to prom twice and the second time I ended up making out with my prom date in her car from midnight til 3 AM... Had one more article of clothing been removed, it would have qualified as sex ;D

Hello, my name is LevelWithMe and I'm an alcholic. I'm 21(soon to be 22, but that's a less exciting year without any special hallmarks).

I don't really have any issues with my relationships with people. Most folks seem to like me, even if I hardly interact with them. I theorize is probably because I'm a good candidate to bounce personal thoughts off of and generally use to be reflective, because I have absolutely zero patience for any sort of social drama, and because I'm professionally impersonal in professional settings. I usually become old friends fast with those I do interact with often/to a great deal, who I only interact with if I find them interesting. I'm a creature that very easily shifts between my solitary and social nature at the soonest point of convenience for my ends. I generally don't care what people think about me/my personality/my actions. I used to care, but I came to realize throughout my high school experience that doing so was a waste of emotional effort and I could economize on my networking and enjoyment of that networking by simply not giving a d^mn. I generally just immediately avoid, ignore, and otherwise disassociate myself with people I don't care about/dislike or come to at a later date.

My favorite color used to be blue, but for the past couple of years it has been red.

Yeah, okay heretic. My favorite color is crimson, so I don't know what I'm being aggressive about.

I played football in high school, and participated to a degree in track/field/wrestling in earlier years. Didn't enjoy the family name based special treatment for many players(football) in my small town, so I quit. I don't enjoy spectator sports, I'm a hands on sort of man.

I've given up trying to define myself politically/philosophically. I don't fit neatly into any term. Not that I have a problem with terms or some idiotic obsession/issue with "labeling", because labels are pretty useful, I just don't. The closest is probably moderate/centrist/liberatian socialist(one of the 50 different brands of each I'm sure). My positions are based on two things: Utilitarianism and practicality based on my best interpretation of the information I've been presented. Ask me about issues and we'll get somewhere.

I used to be a strict American Baptist(from ABA). At one point in my life, some time before high school, I had it in my mind that I would grow up to be a biblical commenter(basically another John Gills). This wasn't anything unnatural to my family(see below). Because of this, I because an ardent defender and crusader for my faith, emerging myself in Christian literature and apologetics, then seeking out the world to convince those silly non-Christians/non-Baptists to turn away from the dark side. As I immersed myself in dialogue with other faiths, I began to change my opinion when presented with new ideas I hadn't been exposed to, that all my Christian resources didn't respond to adequately. Because I firmly believed my position was based in intellectual honesty(a principle I still hold in high regard today), I change my views. I slowly changed my doctrines until I finally realized that I was making excuses for my beliefs, trying to make reality fit them instead of the other way around. I had come to the conclusion that a deity was not necessary(the main premise of my beliefs), and rebuilt my perspective from that point. I might best be described as a Gnostic ignostic agnostic atheist, mostly because the trifecta never ceases to amuse me and it's partially accurate/not intentionally misleading in that order. It would be more practical to refer to myself as a skeptic, but that's less entertaining. My opinions haven't changed to any significant degree since the age of 19.

My immediate family consists of my father(deacon), mother(Sunday school teacher), older brother(youth group leader), uncle(deacon), aunt(Sunday school teacher), younger cousin(soon to be missionary/pastor), his fianc"(bride tomorrow, close friend and soon to be missionary), youngest cousin(leader of the church band), grandfather(deacon), grandmother(Sunday school teacher), my now deceased great grandfather(pastor), and my grandparents/aunt who live in another state that are Catholic and don't really interact with me beyond the holidays and my birthday. Large extended family that I hardly interact with. Immediate family mentioned are all insurance agents, with the exception of my brother who is a fire fighter and my pastor/missionary cousin. My cousin's bride to be has some sort of job in women's fashion/skin care that I can never remember. They love me, I love them, and after a lot of drama that's cooled down since I was 17, they've come to largely accept me/treat me no differently and we love each other very much. My girlfriend of one year is a stenographer that I'm moving in with soon.

I want to be an engineer when I get out of the Navy(currently studying under that sweet, sweet active duty TA and will be using that GI bill for my post-grad education). We'll see how it goes, but once I get to post grad I'd like to get two Bachelor Engineering degrees(ECE and Materials). My main goals with these degrees are my desire to create more efficient energy production/transmission/usage/storage(mostly the later, I love batteries).

My hobbies include playing games(video games/role playing)/helping people with these games, working out(I'm not even sure this really qualifies as a hobby, more like a self improvement/maintenance project), being a lore/research nerd into things that have very little relevance to my life, social drinking, and browsing websites(mostly Reddit and the more intelligent/interest specific boards on 4chan/420chan).

I value eloquence, interesting and thorough ideas, aesthetics, love, other emotions I'm attached to, honesty, a comfortable lifestyle/safe zone, and to a varying situational degree, empathy.

tldr/unrelated; Came to this website to have serious discussions, eventually devolved into casual conversations, judging via comments and votes, reading/saving anything interesting that serious members here had to save for future reference/analysis, and messing around after realizing where I actually was.

Hope you enjoyed this blog entry.

Because when I say "good food" it will register with some people as "I like good food too, like McDonalds and Chick-fil-a." Expensive food is like authentic Thai, Japanese, French, etc. High quality, healthy food is what I eat mostly.

I have my associates degree in Sociology, and plan to go back in at some point and get my Bachelors. I currently work as an administrative technician. I enjoy my beer and tacos, and video games. I enjoy debate because I need intellectual stimulation, which is a feeling I don't get much of anywhere else. In real life I'm a pretty laid back person, but in debate I can sometimes be ruthless, usually when I smell blood in the water.

I grew up with a religious family (my father was a gospel singer) and I was a christian when I was younger. When I was still pretty young, maybe around the age of 12 I began to have doubts. The apparent ineffectiveness of prayer, and the dubiousness of the biblical stories which seemed hardly distinguishable from the fairy tales I was told growing up, lead me to eventually denounce my childhood faith about two years later. I've been a 'none' ever since. My political views went from being very liberal, to the moderate libertarian that I am now.

Because I'm perverse, I'm going to try this the other way round. What do people on this site know about me?
