Couple of suggestions:

1. Fertilization/conception is actually a multi-staged process (http://en.wikipedia.org...). Ask at what point in that process is the combination considered to have a soul and be "alive."

2. You bring up IVF. Note that IVF has a high failure rate (http://en.wikipedia.org...). Would this not make IVF immoral from a pro-life standpoint, especially given the criticism of embryonic stem cell research?

3. If the conception of life is so important, then why is there so much chance involved, especially with regards to miscarriages (also known as natural abortions)?

The following might be off topic - you decide:

4. If the emphasis is on conception being the beginning, why are their moral objections to masturbation?

5. If male masturbation is bad due to the spilling of seed, is female masturbation ok?

6. Why is male masturbation bad but periods are not, given that they are essentially the same thing?

@#6, if a woman has her period and does not get pregnant that cycle isn't that also a waste of "seed" every month. A wasted egg, every time you're not pregnant.
The wise have eyes in their heads, while the fool walks in the darkness; but I came to realizethat the same fate overtakes them both.
Then I said to myself,
"The fate of the fool will overtake me also.
What then do I gain by being wise?"
I said to myself, "This too is meaningless."
For the wise, like the fool, will not be long remembered;
the days have already come when both have been forgotten.
Like the fool, the wise too must die!
- Ecclesiastes 2:14-16

Thank you. I will add those.
