Owns. What I find most fascinating about it, though, is that Scott Lynch is the oldest brother of three, too, and deals with all the psychological issues in this series that I spend my time dealing with on here. Basically, the dude is me. Anyone interested in reading my life story?

It appears I'm going to be a famous author some day.

No one is interested in your sh*tty and uninteresting life story badger, and its safe to say that youre not going to become famous either unless that child pornography ring youve been involved in gets busted.

Telling you that you'll be an unsuccessful sh*thead when you think you're going to be famous isnt 'following' idiot.

But the hero... never gets to see that ending. They'll never know if their sacrifice actually made a difference. They'll never know if the day was really saved. In the end, they just have to have faith.

Not only do I not know what you think the third step is, it is equally lost upon me what may be the first and second.

In other news, the gentleman bastard series IS actually a really good fantasy series. Although, I must confess to being a little let down by the recent third book.

I've been somewhat let down since the second book, Doctor Who being clearly and shamelessly ripped off along the way, but there's a nice bit of rather well-presented psychology to the series all the same, and it's worth it for that. Scott Lynch is rather predictable for all his games, too, though. I wonder did you catch them, pcp?
